The Dominican church and cloister in Knokke-Zoute

jackfre2 (on a trip-voyage-reis-reise) posted a photo:

The Dominican church owes its existence to the emergence of tourism at the end of the 19th century. The church (1925) and the accompanying cloister (1927) were built in a Romanesque Revival style to a design by Joseph Viérin in collaboration with his son and Luc Antoine Dugardyn.
The bell tower refers to the old church towers of Knokke-Heist and village. Besides a large clock there's a chime that plays a melody every fifteen minutes - the duration of the melody increases as the hour progresses.
What the establishment of the church is concerned - stained glass windows, the altar, confessional and communion. Although austerity was chosen, two exceptions were made: the mosaic of St. Thérèse of Lisieux by Anton Molkenboer and the Cross of Emile Raes.
Since the founding of the church in 1925 wearing the Dominican fathers care for the liturgy and spiritual activities around the church. The gate gives access to the cloister, a square paved courtyard with trees, surrounded by a covered gallery with arched arbor by short columns.(pictures of that on anotgher day)
The corrugated curtain glass is 5.5 meters high and 1.8 meters wide; the sheets are cured into an S shape with a 60cm depth, which stabilizes every glass sheet thus making it self-supporting.

The Minerva is arguably the most prestigious Belgian automotive brand that has ever existed. At the height of her fame, she allowed, even in England, to make shade to Rolls-Royce. Manufactured from 1902 until 1938 the company became defunct in 1956. Charles S Rolls (of future Rolls-Royce fame) was a Minerva dealer in England selling the 2.9-litre 14 hp (10 kW). The most important market for the manufacturer remained England, where you could buy cheap for £105 a small 636 cc single-cylinder Minervette. The car was also imported by the Netherlands and France. In 1920, the manufacture returned to Belgium to restart the production of luxury cars with the 20CV 3.6-litre four-cylinder and 30CV 5.3-litre six-cylinder models. The manufacturer's star rose not only in Europe, but in the United States as well, where American film stars, politicians and industrialists appreciated the Minerva cars because the Minerva having the same qualities as the Rolls-Royce, was slightly less expensive. After World War II the company produced a version of the Land Rover under license for the Belgian army up to 1953. There were plans to re-enter the car market but these did not get beyond the prototype stage. The company struggled for survival and made the Continental-engined Land Rover-like C20 until 1956.

The red and orange stones of the MAS building are counterweighted to the light corrugated glass façade which offers a translucency, and a transparency as opposed to the natural stone which is solid and non-transparent, thus allowing for a play of light and shadow. The corrugated curtain glass is 5.5 meters high and 1.8 meters wide; the sheets are cured into an S shape with a 60cm depth, which stabilizes every glass sheet thus making it self-supporting.
