But, since I was laying flat on the ground with an allmost perfect position and POV, I can`t help but wonder what his images will look like.

Reed warbler (Explored)

TenZ.NL (back again) posted a photo:

Spring is here :)

The Eurasian Reed Warbler, or just Reed Warbler (Acrocephalus scirpaceus) is an Old World warbler in the genus Acrocephalus. It breeds across Europe into temperate western Asia. It is migratory, wintering in sub-Saharan Africa.

This small passerine bird is a species found almost exclusively in reed beds, usually with some bushes. The 3-5 eggs are laid in a basket nest in reeds. The chicks fledge after 10 or 11 days. This species is usually monogamous.

The Eurasian Reed Warbler looks similar to the Great Reed Warbler, but the Great Reed Warbler is smaller in size and has a stronger supercilium.

The Eurasian Reed Warbler is one of the species that are brood parasitised by the Common Cuckoo.

This is a medium-sized warbler, 12.5-14 cm in length. The adult has an unstreaked brown back and buff underparts. The forehead is flattened, and the bill is strong and pointed. The sexes are identical, as with most warblers, but young birds are richer buff below. Like most warblers, it is insectivorous, but will take other small food items, including berries.

The song is a slow, chattering jit-jit-jit with typically acrocephaline whistles and mimicry added.

Here it`s singing out load, probably to attract the females :)

Explored once again, nr 5 in the last 8 days... thank you all for your nice comments, faves and views!!

It has been allmost a month since I picked up my gear and I really wanted to shoot something so I gave it a try. I didn`t have any expirience capturing fireworks and usually I do a lot of research before I venture in the unknown. This time was different, this was a spontaneous action. Actually it was quite difficult (also due to the wind) and it didn`t work out the way I hoped too. That was also due to the prosecco, messing up my focus several times by touching the focusring. Don`t drink and shoot, lol!

What you see here is a piece of fireworks shot into the water and then exploding into several smaller pieces.

Oh well, I had fun and enjoyed the show. This one didn`t turn out that bad. Or did it?

After 27 days back from Nigeria.

Because of corruption, robbery and other heavy criminality I only took a cheap P&S with me. I hate this thing...I`m too much spoiled with the IQ of my other gear that I didn`t take much pictures. Also humidity was a serious problem as the little lens would fog up in seconds.

If you look past the corruption and the crime, Nigeria is a beautifull and rich country with lots of resources and possibilities. It also very photograpic and more than once I wished for my DSLR equipment. This was one of the first pictures and while framing the shot I immediately wished for a wideangle.

Alas...but in the end it was a wise choice. Getting into the country allready costed some dollars but going out was even worse. It`s like every greedy MF works at the airport and they all want some cash or they make it hard on you. They play every little dirty trick in the book and even let you miss your flight if you don`t pay enough. Those SOB`s make more money a day than then you or I do...

Anyway, it has been a nice little adventure. They have a very different set of rules overthere and human lives aren`t worth much. It`s good to be back home in one piece :)

Yesterday I got myself a new toy. It`s a B+W ND110 MRC (10stops neutral density filter) in 49mm. This will fit on both the DA15 and the DA35 limited.
For those unknown to the limited series from Pentax:
It`s a collection of handcrafted and small primes, with superiour optics and allmost magical contrast and colorrendering.

The first victim was the DA15ltd, the main reason why I bought this filter. A great tool for landscapes: plenty sharp from front to end, gorgeous colors and it`s allmost flareproof (unlike my DA* 16-50).

After a beautifull day I jumped into the car after dinner and headed for the coast in search of a nice sunset. I think I found one :)
