With my new camera, I can finally take the shots (and video) I've wanted to for the past 3 years :) Note: this is not a spectacular photo at all, just an example of what I could never get before (ISO 2000, 1/80 at f/2.5, with the 35mm f/1.8G DX in FX mode).

Shenandoah this year was not very fall colory. Only a small disappointment in that regard. It was still quite beautiful, as always.

Straight from camera. You can see the vignetting from the filter holder being stacked on top of the circular polarizer. At this angle, I find it is an attractive darkening of the frame.

This is from my first excursion with my new 4x5 filters. Overall, I say it was successful, even though I didn't get all the shots I attempted to get. Photography is an art of practice, so I hope my future results keep improving!

The downside to this story is that I broke my circular polarizer (at least I popped the rear filter element forward and out of its slot.) A trip to Nikon service may be in store...
