A Few Shots in the Snow with Wherever I Roam

I had the chance to meet up with a long time flickr friend, and amazing photographer, Rasekh aka Wherever I Roam here in Victoria this week. If you like my work, then you'll definitely enjoy his. He has a great collection of photos from all over the world. Check him out.

The above shot was done with exposure fusion in Photomatix. I've never had much success with this method, but this time it finally worked.

I finally found the time to take my camera out last night. I feel like I've done every Victoria shot there is, so I am heading off to the Oregon Coast and Portland in a few days. I am so excited to finally have a passport!

The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia is one of two components of the Parliament of British Columbia, the provincial parliament (the other is the Queen of Canada, represented by the Lieutenant-Governor of British Columbia).

Parliament meets in Victoria. Members are referred to as Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs). The current Parliament is the 39th Parliament. The most recent general election was the British Columbia general election held on May 12, 2009.

Victoria, B.C is often referred to as the most British city outside of England. According to Statistics Canada, 43% of Victoria's population is originally from the "motherland."

The Story

I just got my Tamron 10-24mm in the mail. I didn't know it was possible to fall in love with a lens until today. =) Despite some of the bad reviews i read about this lens saying it was unsharp. I was really impressed with the quality. I was using it at F8 though, and they say sharpness falls at a wider aperture.

Unfortunately, the sky was dull and grey, and it was quite windy outside, so I decided to get some interior shots for my first try with the super wide.This is the interior of the British Columbia Legislature's copper roofed dome.

As soon as the weather gets a little nicer. I'll be on my way back to Vancouver for a shooting extravaganza!
