Disney Dream - Inside Walt's Theatre

Joseph Vernuccio posted a photo:

After seeing the inside of the Walt Disney Theatre on the Disney Dream. I was determined to get some epic pictures of the theatre empty.

So feeling bold on the second night of our cruise, I jumped the impenetrable field of velvet ropes and yanked on the door. To my surprise it remained unlocked. Feeling like Pierce Brosnan in the Thomas Crown Affair, I had this rush and took a few minutes to determine the best angles to attack the beast. I set up my tripod and grabbed this first shot. Sadly, that would be it. I was busted, Dream Security grabbed me by the arms and threw me out of the theatre. With my camera not much further in tow.

Actually, they just asked me to leave politely. However, I only managed to grab the one shot. But the story seemed much more dramatic when I retold it to my girlfriend when I finally got back to the room around 2 AM from my late night photo adventure. I'll never forget with sleep still in her eyes and a groggy voice, her asking "Are we getting kicked off the ship?" I answered "Yes, we better start packing."

I don't know about you, but I love the Disney Must Do Video that's on constant 24/7 rotation. I'm sure you've seen the video if you've stayed on resort. If not, watching it is a definite "MUST DO."

I often find myself quoting the lovely Stacey as my girlfriend and I stroll through the parks. I'm sure it looks rather rather odd for two twenty-something adults running around screaming such classic quotes as "Girls Rock!" or "Sully, you big lug." So I would like to thank Stacey for today's title, may you continue to inspire.

Still a rookie when it comes to shooting the World Showcase, let alone at night.

I've wanted to start capturing more of the World Showcase and EPCOT in general, as it is slowly becoming my favourite park. Which kind of saddens me as Magic Kingdom is pretty close to my heart. Hopefully, I can start to get some more creative shots out of WS and EPCOT on my next go around.

I'm quite happy with this as a start. Feedback is welcome.

After a hot and sticky night of firework shots while at Wishes (which I have yet to post due to Cory, Matt, and Tom intimidation) I noticed they had just opened the gate to Cinderella's Castle. Not wanting to miss out on the opportunity I broke into a light sprint, if you can call it that when you have 20 pounds of gear on your back.

I got there a little out of breath, and disappointed at the amount of traffic rushing through my shots. I'm happy to say I walked away with one or two I liked. This happens to be number two.

There's officially 21 days until I disembark on my trip to Walt Disney World, followed by 4 days on the Disney Dream. So that gives me 21 more days to play with my new toys. This is my first shot, and upload with my new D700 and 14-24mm lens. All I can say is WOW. Super fast, super sharp. I'm itching to get to WDW to see what I can do with this thing.

Although that sunspot/dust worries me. Hopefully, it's nothing. Let me know what you think?

A little about the shot, this is a dead tree I've driven by for years and wanted to photograph, so I figured no better time than now with my new toys.

Mary Blair is certainly one of the most underrated Disney artists. In my opinion she pushed the envelope in terms of Disney Animation and ruffled a few feathers among the "Nine Old Men".

Her mural at the Contemporary Resort is a task to photograph, due to it's shear size. I'm really happy with the results here. Although I feel I could have cropped the image tighter and maybe straightened the image out. Let me know your opinion on this.

I'll always be a Disney loyalist, but it's impressive to see the amount of detail that Universal has put in to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It's such a submersive environment to get caught up in, and is truly eye catching. So eye catching I forgot to take pictures at one point of the day. Is there anything I can do about it now? Sadly, no. Still not 100% happy with this photo, may go back and attack it later and repost it.

I had to be super stealth when taking this photo because security was on my ass about taking photos inside the gallery. It was super dark in here, so I had my ISO cranked. Which was probably a mistake on my part because the noise in this image was an SOB. i would love to go back and get another shot at this room in order to come out with a sharper result.

This is the Impressionist room at the AGO, I just love the layout of the artwork and the curved walls. How bad ass would an office look if you could mimic this style?

D lounge is a family night club located on Deck 4. If you follow the hall it leads to the "adult" club area as well, that is if my mind serves me correctly.

The Disney Dream is really an amazing specimen, in both design and space. There's literally not a bad angle to photograph on this ship. Nothing to special about the photo, just loved the colour that the LED's produced off the wood. It was really difficult to get the colour right while I was photographing it, because the LED's changed on a 10 second cycle.

Side note, I think I should have cropped tighter on the left hand side. Suggestions?

I love the attention detail in the main atrium and spent far too many late nights photographing every single detail.

This is a shot I took, before I took the first "Partners" photo i posted. I think I went a little to electric with the HDR process on this compared to the first, I've been experimenting with some filters.

Please, I would love some constructive criticism. So leave some feedback.
