Taken near the Sea wall at Vancouver, British Columbia.

Chinese Dogwood (Cornus kousa). The four-petalled white flowers are actually bracts spread open below the cluster of inconspicuous yellow-green flowers.

Dogwoods are one of my favorite flowers.

I am having a long vacation in Canada :)) 25 hours of flight from India to Canada.....imagine my jet-lag....ugh. But the good news is that I'll be around in flickr more often than before!

I and my husband (who is recovering from his surgery) went to the terrace today evening to have some fresh air. We were so thrilled to see the gorgeous sunset. I tried to take the sunset with some flying birds but didn't have the patience to wait for them to fly by :))

The weather was perfect today, not so hot but warm and pleasant. Thank God for that. In the evening, the Sun was fuzzy for a while, as if he didn't know what to do or where to go. The next moment he just dipped into the cloud like a soft egg yolk! Perfect job!!!

A sunset at the Besant Nagar beach. It was a hot summer day. This big dark cloud raised at 6.10pm promising us a cool time. Yes, we did get some showers in the night.

When I was going through my archives yesterday, I found this pic. I remember liking it, the scenery of vast sky spreading in front of me with barns on either side of the road. I shot it with a small portion of the ground showing a little of barns, trees and fence.

During my visit to Thailand, we went on a cruise to see some of the beautiful islands which have the most fine white sand, breathtaking sea, painting like sky and of course warm sunny weather. This yellow boat complemented the scenery.

Ellis Island Immigration Museum!

This picture was taken from the Circle Line Ferry from Liberty Island to Battery Park. This Immigration building, a reception point for many immigrants was shining like a jewel in the setting sun.

From 1892 to 1954, over 12,000,000 immigrants entered the United States through the portal of Ellis Island, a small island in New York Harbor. It has been claimed that over 100 million Americans can trace their ancestry to the immigrants who first arrived in America at Ellis Island from the records available here.

It became part of the Statue of Liberty National Monument in 1965, and since 1990, hosts a museum of immigration run by the National Park Service.

The setting sun painted everything a pinkish orange light, including the ocean surface.
