50 years ago today, mankind sent the first human into space in the form of Yuri Gagarin. An amazing achievement when you really think about it. We then of course sent mankind to the moon. I always wished I could be around at a time when mankind can travel to the stars (if we don't kill each other first...). Space and the universe has always amazed me and no matter how many times I see it, a clear night and a bright moon fascinates me.

This was taken with a new "telescope lens" my father recently purchased. It hasn't been cropped (just brightened and sharpened a little). Hope you enjoy.
