A dhow (داو) is a traditional Arab sailing vessel, modern versions have combustion engines. The dhow harbor at the southern part of Doha Corniche is very popular with young people at night since it is dark, secluded, and a good place to overcome religious and traditional limitations.

Everybody is fancy about frozen joghurt and "Swirll" is part of the hype. We tried some of their rich toppings near the University of Texas campus at downtown Austin.

The Oak Alley belongs to a historic plantation on Mississippi river. The plantation was built between 1837 and 1837, but the 240m double alley of oaks already has been there since the early 18th century. The house is famous for its appearance in many movies, one of them being "Inteview with a Vampire" starring Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise.

The Algiers Ferry connects Canal St. of New Orleans' French Quarter and Algiers Point. The ride is free for pedestrians and bikers, cars are charged a whopping 1$. The ferry plays a lead role in Denzel Washington's 2006 movie "Déjà Vu".

From rear to front: First, St. Louis Cathedral, seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New Orleans. Second, equestrian statue of general Andrew Jackson, leader of the American forces in the War of 1812. The cannon model is a 1861 Parrot Rifle used in the Civil War. The crow is just an ordinary crow.

Guests can select from a broad range of liquors at the "Old Absinthe House". The bar is located at New Orleans' famous Bourbon Street, we went there to watch the 2010 Soccer World Cup match Germany/Ghana (1:0).

Austin's South Congress (SoCo) is a lively shopping district with famous motels like the "Austin Motel", handicraft stores filled with Native American and Mexican art, and unique eateries like "Fran's Diner". We went there during ISIT2010 lunch break, the red Prius was ours.
