Silanov posted a photo:

Karlsplatz, Neuburg an der Donau, Bavaria

Some background information:

The little town of Neuburg an der Donau is the capital of the Upper Bavarian Neuburg-Schrobenhausen district. It was founded in the 8th century as a bishop’s see. Later is became the main place of a pfalzgraviate. In 1505 the duchy of Pfalz-Neuburg was
formed with Neuburg as its residential city.

From 1717 to 1718 Neuburg was de facto the residence of the Electorial Palatinate until the new prince-elector Karl III Philipp moved his court to Heidelberg. Subsequently Neuburg became less important and industry developed only slightly. But as Neuburg was spared from heavy destructions in World War II due to its industrial unimportance, it managed to keep its beautiful old town.

The Karlsplatz is the main place in the so called upper old town, which is situated on the same hill as the castle. It’s tree-lined by two hundred years old lime trees and surrounded by renaissance and baroque buildings. The Marienbrunnen (Mary’s fountain) from 1729 is situated at the centre of this place.

When we were there, two guys were playing a game of boules at the Karlsplatz. The aim of this game is to get large, heavy metal balls as close to the small "jack". Even boules is popular mainly in France and Italy you can see at my picture that it’s also played in Germany.
