US 377 Sunrise

US 377 at daybreak was a very lonely drive...from Del Rio to Junction, Texas. I probably passed 10 vehicles in both directions. Quite a beautiful and scenic drive, though. Flash enabled.

At the 277/377 Split

At this point, US 377 breaks away from US 277, about 20 minutes north of Del Rio.

An early morning shot with the built-in flash to illuminate the signs' reflective sheet paneling, so the white backgrounds appear crisp.

We're about to land, but lightning is bouncing from cloud to cloud towards the north. These are the lights of Broward County before landing at around 8:00pm during the summer.

Alternate US Route 27

Alternate US Route 27 winds its way through Polk County, in a delightful array of lakes, hills, orange groves, and small towns. Some time in 1997, this road was renamed State Road 17, so this is probably one of the last of the "Alternate 27" signs used on this route.

Unfortunately, you can't tell it's a green background sign, since this was in my black-and-white phase of generally ignoring color film. Photo taken in March 1997, with a Canon EOS Rebel, Kodak Tri-X film, and the standard 24-70mm kit lens.
