"Look at me..."

I find it difficult to overcome the feeling that I'm intruding when I take a photograph like this. Even though there's an urge to capture and document, there's a respect for privacy that makes me hesitate. In this case it didn't stop me pressing the shutter and the end result was probably worth me doing so.

In the background are the bright lights and tacky interior of the Trafford Centre's food court... A sad testament to our desire for dull one-size-fits-all shopping establishments.

Jenny watching the icy water. A cold afternoon, empty bench, quiet landscape. I could definitely imagine the life bustling around here in summer but now it seems dead. Occasional flocks of birds appear overhead before diving back into the marshland, even the surrounding paths see only a few dog walkers and runners.
