This photo of my daughter was taken about five years ago when Anna was 11 years old.

I have been so inspired lately by all the photographs that I've seen using the fabulous textures from the Florabella Collection which was created by a very talented photographer Shana Rae {Florabella Textures} . Please visit her photostream and enjoy all her creations! You will be amazed!

In this photograph, I used three layers. The bottom layer was the Florabella Texture: "Attache b&w".... the middle was my black and white photo of Anna and then I put another layer of "Attache b&w" on top. I used the "magic eraser" in PS to erase the "Attache" texture from Anna's face, but left it in her hair. I think this works, as I wanted her eyes to be the main focus. Once I got everything the way I wanted, I "flattened" the layers into one. I had to use Picnik to add the watermark... as I have no clue how to do this in PS. (I am so limited with my skills in PS!)

Sixteen Flowers

Please read, and you will understand how precious this bouquet of flowers is to me....

When my daughter Anna turned five years old, I took her to a florist in our little town and asked them if they would let her pick out 5 flowers... one for each year of her life. They agreed and opened the doors of a large refrigerated room where bundles of flowers sat in white buckets of water. Shivering, my Anna diligently picked out her five flowers, one by one. They were then wrapped in colorful tissue paper and tied with a ribbon. The joy in her face was undeniable. It was the beginning of a birthday tradition.... a time for mother and daughter to celebrate that special "birthday" bond, shared only by them.

Every year since, Anna has picked out her flowers, creating a bouquet unique to her particular tastes. Yesterday was no exception. There Anna stood, much taller than I.... gazing over the buckets of colorful flowers. Roses, carnations, delphiniums.... and one by one the bouquet was created. Sixteen flowers for sixteen years. Sixteen wonderful moments between a mother and her daughter. I pray that I will still be with her when she picks out her 60th flower. Oh, what a bouquet that will be! ♥

That's my daughter Anna in the white helmet, Rebekah (my son's girlfriend) in the middle and my son, Michael in the foreground. We always go to Cades Cove, Tennessee for my birthday each year. We drive the 11-mile scenic route and then take an hour long horseback ride. This was Rebekah's first time ever on a horse. She did very well!
