Another image from the other evening. With the out going tide, more and more rocks were being uncovered.

It was an incoming tide. With the use of a 3-stop filter, I slowed down the water enough to give it a milky look as it washed over the causeway down at Marine Lake, Weston-super-mare. The image was processed in LR4 and SilverEfex 2.

Feels like an age since I was last out. This was a quick rush down to Weston super Mare. The incoming tide was just starting to wash over the causeway (and into my wellies!). A 3-stop ND filter slowed down the exposure enough to give the milky look to the water.

This was shot with a panaromic in mind. So far one of the best sunsets I have seen at Burnham - and I almost thought it would not happen.

On the agenda was the SS Nornen, but flooded footpaths and a lack of time put paid to that, so off we trotted to Burnham lighthouse. It was not a disappointment. The sky lit up beautifully and the ripples in the sand picked up the fading light.

What a fanastic day. Arrived in Chateau d'Oex this morning after missing our train last night. This is an annual event with around 80 hot air balloons taking to the air.

Winter arrived in style last night, with the usual chaos. I took a wander over the moors behind my house and shot the tree from my last post. Nature has taken its toll on the poor thing.

A spectacular morning [Explored]

… a distant memory. This was shot a few minutes earlier from the last image. I had recce'd Old Hartley the morning before, after a shoot at St. Mary's. I could not have asked for a better morning with some lovely colours bouncing off the wet rocks. I didn't envy the surfers who came out in force that morning … it was freezing!!

I can usually be guaranteed some good weather over the Christmas break when visiting the family, but unfortunately not this year. I do hope that this rain stops - the lawn at home is under water again. This was taken nearly exactly 12 months ago to the day. What a contrast!

It was a quick rush down to Burnham-on-sea for the sunset that didn't quite happen. I was about to pack up and leave but noticed some colour being reflected in the high tide.

The leaves are starting to fall and this image from the past reminds me that Autumn is now upon us. Looking forward to catching some golden colours.

Knightstone, for a brief moment was lit by the setting sun. I only wished I had worn my wellies as the tide was coming in fast!

It was nice to be out, it has been a while, perhaps too long. Looking back, I was last out in the UK at the end of July. How time flies.

The day did not look promising, but the clouds opened up nicely over Steep Holm.

It was time for a little more experimentation with zoom bursts on the incoming tide. The sea was lighting up nicely with an almost petrol blue look to it.

It was an incoming tide that reflected some of the sky nicely. Played around with some 2s panning shots and was pleased with how the sea came out.

It was surprising how quickly the tide came in at Berrow while out photographing the SS Nornen.

I gave up on the 10-stop images and reverted to a 3 stop filter to capture some movement in the water.
