Another shot of this year's Uncommon Common Art door installation. Again, I didn't photoshop out the imperfection in the mirror. You can see a little ribboning black line that's a reflection of the power lines across the street.

The latest in the Uncommon Common Art series of door installations.

The blue square between the yellow and pink doors is a mirror, but as is usual for me, the floating illusion never works right when I visit. The sky behind me was blue and not strewn with cloud cover, so it really didn't blend in at all.

One of this year's Uncommon Common Art installations, this one in downtown Canning. It's still early, and the map isn't quite finished yet. I'm mostly interested to see what this year's sequel is to "Door 17", but I thought I would give some of the others a look.

As you can see, the optical illusion mostly worked this time. I also came prepared for the rematch in appropriate photogear instead of dress pants and shoes, and managed to leap majestically across the yawning chasm of the muddy ditch (might be exaggerating there a bit...). I think these shots turned out a lot better than the previous ones. There is a little bit of a shadow, but I think I can live with it.

Nope, not photoshopped. Uncommon Common Art by Nicole Evans and Pat Farrell in Grand Pre, Nova Scotia. The door/staircase rests on a small pedestal that has a wraparound mirror to reflect the sky and create a "floating" illusion.
