This was once an airstrip. Many farms in the area after WWII were settled by former military pilots. Many farmers flew for a hobby and even built airstrips on their farms.

This is now a beautiful grassy field, filled with sounds of wildlife and the wind.

The first decent hatch of the season, so I got my fly rod out. Did pretty well on browns and a few rainbows last night.

This is a self timed shot. I had my camera set up on a tripod and while I was trying to get myself in the right "pose" a fish hit right at the end of this shot.
(Not a fish story, I swear...)

The title doesn't make much sense, but it was really cold out with a nice warm light coming through as it was pouring rain. There was of course a full arch rainbow that was behind me, unfortunately I couldn't shoot it in time - they tend to be very fleeting...
