D and I visited the International Wolf Center in Ely, Minnesota. It's a great place to learn about, and see wolves in their natural setting. This photo was taken through glass (thankfully they keep the glass pretty clean)... one of the wolves honored us with a walk right up to the viewing area, but he left quickly. I luckily was right there to snap off a quick shot... no cropping done, just adjusted the exposure a bit.

Cathedral of St. Paul - this was the baptistry area and was gated off. I loved the stained glass, it was so bright in this dark area.

D and I didn't even see the branches in the frame until we loaded the pictures at home. We both need to 1) go to the eye doctor, 2) survey the area a little better before taking the shot, and 3) get a camera with a bigger / brighter view screen. :)

These lovely honey bees and about 20,000 of their friends (yes, that was the estimated number) decided to make a home inside the wall right by our front entrance about a week ago. Thankfully we found a great resource through the MN Beekeepers Association to help us move these guys to a better and safer environment. The honey bee population has been dwindling at an alarming rate over the past several years, so we were happy they were able to go to a new home. We're all breathing a bit easier these days... :)

The above photo I took quickly to send to the Association to confirm the honey bee ID... while they weren't overly aggressive, there were many of them flying around me, so I didn't stick around to get the best shot.

Sorry I haven't been on flickr in quite a while, but can't wait to catch up with all my flickr friends soon!! I see flickr has changed a bit while I've been gone - not sure yet if I like it. I guess I just need to get used to it.

This shot was taken from the Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis. The ruins are lit up below and it almost looks like an underworld to me.
