Meet Ruby with her awesome style! To match that style she is a lovely person too! Ruby and her friends work to teach inner city kids the arts. Kids that would not normally get the opportunity to explore their artistic talent, she encourages an draws out their gifts. She also cuts hair, does makeup and photography.. there are no limits to his ladies talent! More about Ruby here

I came across this open truck that seemed to be apart of a movie production set in L.A. I liked the look it gave the street with it's lights on inside and the orange street cones. So I hung out for a moment here to see if any potential strangers would come along. Meet Andres with his awesome Michael Jackson T-shirt. He is a hairstylist and a really cool dude. I had a little bit of trouble focusing on Andres, sometimes with my old Pentacon it's hard in certain light situations to tell exactly where the focus is. Even though the focus isn't perfect here, I still really like this street portrait of Andres.

Brandi came walking towards me with such style and confidence that I just had to ask her if she'd be one of my strangers. Brandi works at a local L.A. hair salon and was just on her way back there when I met her. She was more than willing to stop for a picture, thank you Brandi!

Shannon was hanging around outside a hotel in downtown L.A. when I met her. She seemed to be waiting for someone, and just killing time. She was a little amused at my request to take her picture, but was more than happy to participate. I took a couple of shots, and ended up liking them both. I went with the one that had soft & dreamy light as my lead shot this time, but I do like the clarity in the second. Let me know which one you prefer :)

I met Carmen at a local market where she was working. There was a calmness about Carmen in the midst of all the stalls, people selling, people browsing and buying. She was a little reluctant at first to have her picture taken, but after I explained about the project she agreed. Thank you Carmen!

Meg and I were having a break from our time out shooting when we noticed Laura walk by us on the busy street. With her fabulous style both Meg and I said the same thing, "She'd make a great stranger!" So I left Meg to finish her beer and went to see if I could catch Laura. Thankfully I did, and Laura was most gracious to accommodate my request. I liked the look of this disused store front, with it's reflections, and decided to try to as a backdrop. Laura was a delight to meet, wishing me all the best in my project.

Yesterdays shot explained...

Many of you were wondering how yesterdays image came about... with the lady in triplicate. I thought I'd share.. It was taken at the Getty Villa in Malibu, the original Getty Museum, which is really cool and beautiful btw :). In a part of the house they have this elaborate staircase, with an open triangle looking down onto the ground level and out into their Roman courtyard. So for yesterdays shot I was standing at the other end of the triangle, at the top of today's image, looking out towards the courtyard where the lady was walking in from. The two pieces of glass delivered her reflections in my image. It was a little awkward to shoot but quite fun at the same time :)
