Fehmarn (Danish: Femern) is an island and - since 2003 - a town on this island in the Baltic Sea, off the eastern coast of Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, and ca. 18 kilometers south of the Danish island of Lolland. It belongs to the district of Ostholstein. The 963-metre (3,159 ft) long Fehmarn Sound Bridge connects the German island of Fehmarn with the German mainland near Großenbrode.

Fehmarn (dänisch Femern) ist eine Ostseeinsel. Fehmarn ist 185 km² groß, verfügt über rund 78 km Küstenlinie und liegt zwischen Kieler Bucht und Mecklenburger Bucht in der Ostsee.
Die 963 Meter lange Fehmarnsundbrücke verbindet das Festland mit der Insel.

Ich finde ja, dass das Foto einen Hauch von Monet hat: Malerisch und insbesondere die Wolken wirken impressionistisch.

Iciness and frost it looks like, but it was a wonderful sunny day without wind. There is an orange peel in front of the pier.

Das Foto sieht nach Eiseskälte und Frost aus, aber es war ein herrlich sonniger Tag, zwar kalt, aber wenig Wind. Aufgenommen in der Nähe von Neustadt i.H., Ostsee. Ganz vorne am Steg liegt übrigens eine Orangenschale.

Ich finde das Foto deswegen so faszinierend, weil (fast) alle Entchen den Betrachter anschauen. Die Enten stehen auf einem Spiegel und der blaue Hintergrund ist der Himmel.

Apropos touch: Bad idea to touch yellyfish-
Touching or being touched by a jellyfish can be very uncomfortable, sometimes requiring medical assistance; sting effects range from no effect to extreme pain to death. Even beached and dying individuals can still sting when touched.

Jellies have roamed the seas for at least 500 million years, and possibly 700 million years or more, making them the oldest multi-organ animal.

Nein, hier ist nichts mit "Ziehen und Fallenlassen" wie beim PDA, Tablet PC oder Smartphone. Die Quallen bewegen sich von ganz alleine ;-)

Apropos Touch: Keine gute Idee eine Qualle berühren zu wollen- Bei Menschen verursacht bei Berührung das über die Nesselzellen abgesonderte Sekret meist einen brennenden Schmerz, Hautrötungen oder juckende Ausschläge (Blasenbildungen, Schwellungen). Unbehandelt ist die Wirkung mit einer leichten Verbrennung zu vergleichen, es können über Monate sichtbare Pigmentveränderungen oder sogar Narben zurückbleiben. Das Gift einiger weniger Arten kann Atembeschwerden, Brechreiz oder gar einen Kreislaufkollaps verursachen.

Quallen im Shanghai Ocean Aquarium.

Quallen bevölkern seit mehr als 500 Millionen Jahren die Weltmeere. Diese Qalle ist im Shanghai Ocean Aquarium aufgenommen. Im Hintergrund lief übrigens klassische Musik. Ich stand über eine Stunde staunend vor den Quallen.

Lucky eyes and beautiful smile of a child in Myanmar. The girl has Tanaka paste in her face. The crust of the Tanaka-Tree is pulverized and touched with water to a paste. This is painted in the face. Tanaka cools and disinfects and protects against the sun.

Burma, or Myanmar as it is called by the Military Junta, is a country where magnificent and ancient Buddhist temples gaze out serenely over a nation restless for change. Burma has plenty of wonders for the eye--sinuous, life-giving rivers, lush mountain forests, and intricately-drawn cities--but it can also trouble the soul. For the last 30 years, its people have been ruled by a notoriously repressive military government, the tatmadaw. But I never see so many people smiling and laughing. Its a wonderful country with wonderful people. I hope for them that people are one day in freedom.

Fröhliches kleines Mädchen, irgendwo in Myanmar, im Land des Lächelns. Das Mädchen hat Tanaka-Paste im Gesicht. Die Rinde des Tanakabaumes wird pulverisiert und mit Wasser zu einer Paste angerührt. Diese wird ins Gesicht gestrichen. Tanaka kühlt und desinfiziert und schützt vor der Sonne.

Myanmar oder auch Birma oder Burma, ist ein Vielvölkerstaat in Südostasien. Das Land steht seit 1962 unter einer Militärherrschaft.

Myanmar ist eines der schönsten Länder, was ich besuchen durfte:
Die Shwedagon-Pagode, die weitläufigen Anlagen der alten Hauptstadt Bagan mit über 2.000 Sakralbauten aus vier Jahrhunderten, der Goldene Fels bei Kyaikto im Mon-Staat.

Aber neben den fantastischen Sehenswürdigkeiten bleibt mir Myanmar als Land des Lächelns in Erinnerung. Ich habe noch nie so viele Menschen Lächeln gesehen, trotz über 30jähriger Militärherrschaft. Ich hoffe, dass die Menschen dort eines Tages in Freiheit Lächeln können.

In October 2011, the dark doings of the Nazi underground (NSU) announced. Over a period of ten years, the group committed at least ten murders, two bomb attacks and several bank robberies in germany. what role have various intelligence and law enforcement agencies played, is still unclear, as the leaders hindered by their persistent silence for a full investigation. Certainly in this context only that the acts of the NSU authorities for some time been known and they were not surprised by it.

The great silence also determines the reactions of the public. At the commemorative events in Germany, each attended by only a few hundred people, and also expressions of the federal government seem to be lip service, there is not yet clear that the following words into concrete actions.

Just a few months before the discovery of the doings of the NSU there was a attack in Norway with 77 dead people. While in Scandinavia as a reaction to the killings a sometimes critical reappraisal taking place in the political and social responsibility, this debate is missing in Germany. Germany is focused on a ex-President.

Gegen Ausländerfeindlichkeit.
Gegen Rechtsextremismus.

Im Oktober 2011 wurden die Taten des Nationalsozialistischen Untergrunds (NSU) bekannt. In einem Zeitraum von über zehn Jahren verübte die Gruppe mindestens zehn Morde, zwei Sprengstoffanschläge und zahlreiche Banküberfälle. Welche Rolle dabei diverse Geheimdienste und Ermittlungsbehörden gespielt haben, ist immer noch unklar, da die Verantwortlichen durch ihr beharrliches Schweigen eine lückenlose Aufklärung behindern. Sicher ist in diesem Zusammenhang nur, dass die Taten der NSU den Behörden schon längere Zeit bekannt waren und sie keineswegs davon überrascht wurden.

Das große Schweigen bestimmt ebenso die Reaktionen der Öffentlichkeit. An den Gedenkveranstaltungen in Deutschland nahmen jeweils nur einige hundert Menschen teil und auch Bekundungen der Bundesregierung scheinen zu Lippenbekenntnissen zu werden, da bisher nicht erkennbar ist, dass der Worte konkrete Taten folgen.

Nur wenige Monate vor dem Bekanntwerden der Taten des NSU kam es in Norwegen zu einem rechten Anschlag mit 77 Toten. Während im skandinavischen Raum als Reaktion auf die begangenen Morde eine zum Teil kritische Aufarbeitung der politischen und gesellschaftlichen Verantwortung stattfindet, bleibt diese Debatte in Deutschland weitgehend aus. Deutschland ist fokussiert auf einen mittlerweile Ex-Bundespräsident.

Bewirbt sich als neue Milka Kuh. Ist zwar eine Elefantenkuh, vielleicht hat sie aber Chancen bis ins Recall zu kommen als Werbestar für Milka Jumbo, XXL Milka oder als "Schokoriese". Mit dem Muuuh könnte es schwierig werden: Törööööh!

Das Foto der Elefantenkuh habe ich in Kenia gemacht. Angestrichen habe ich sie natürlich in Photoshop.

There are a lot of things going against the grain of me: the neverending stories about the Federal President of Germany, the Euro-crisis, the practice of banking, the contaminated roses you can buy in germany, antibiotics resistant germs in meat and ... and ... and

I like untroubled demonstrations against something. That is democracy and freedom of opinion. But the concrete aims of occupy and anonymous I did not understand up to now. Are you able to explain me?

Mir geht momentan so einiges gegen den Strich: Unser Bundespräsident, Christian Wulff, mitsamt seiner Salamitaktik bei der Kredit-, Urlaubs- und Mobilboxaffäre und die 250te Talk-Show zu dem Thema, die Euro-Krise, die Banken mit den Spekulationsgeschäften sowieso und der Einfluss der Wirtschaft auf die Politik stinkt mir gewaltig, eigentlich bin ich ja ohne Rating-Agenturen groß geworden und plötzlich gibt es AAAs und AAs von Standard & Poor´s und Moody´s und Fitch (was sind das für Namen und was machen die um alles in der Welt und vorallem warum?), die mit krebserregenden Pestiziden verseuchten Rosen zum Valentinstag, dann wurden ja auch noch Antibiotika resistente Keime im Fleisch gefunden und... und ....
Vielleicht fällt Dir ja auch noch was ein???

Mir reicht es!

Ich finde es gut, wenn Leute friedlich demonstrieren, aber so richtig verstanden habe ich die Occupy-Bewegung noch nicht. Vielleicht kann mir jemand die konkreten Ziele erklären? Wäre prima. Danke ;-)

Indoor photo of the Saudi Arabia Pavilion for Shanghai World Expo 2010, a combine effort of Chinese and Saudi designers. Saudi Arabia spent $164 million on its pavilion, which was the highest figure spent by one nation amongst of all visiting countries.
Expo 2010 is over but it is possible to visit the Saudi Arabia Pavillion onward.

The Saudi Arabia Pavilion for Shanghai World Expo 2010 is a combine effort of Chinese and Saudi designers. It’s main attraction is a huge IMAX screen. The 1,600-square-meter screen is larger than any other cinema screen on earth, estimated to be the size of a soccer field. Short films will be presented on the screen. Saudi Arabia spent $164 million on its pavilion, which was the highest figure spent by one nation amongst of all visiting countries.
Expo 2010 is over but it is possible to visit the Saudi Arabia Pavillion onward.

Mit einem außergewöhnlichen architektonischen Konzept, ein auf Säulen schwebender stilisierter Schiffsrumpf, präsentiert sich Saudi-Arabien auf der Expo 2010 in Shanghai. Der als "Mondschiff" bekannte Pavillon, in dessen Bau mehr als eine Milliarde Yuan investiert worden war, gehörte zu den beliebtesten Zielen während der Shanghaier Expo. Auf einem Förderband gleitet der Besucher langsam auf einer Brücke durch den Hauptraum des Pavillons, unter ihm eine gewölbte Projektionsfläche, im Zentrum und an der Decke ein dichter Raster eines Spiegelmosaiks. Unter tragenden Klängen entfaltet sich aus dem Raummittelpunkt eine Struktur aus floralen Formen und orientalischen Mustern, strömt über den Boden, die Wände und wird von dem facettenartigen Spiegelmosaik auf der Decke in die Unendlichkeit überhöht.
Zwar ist die Expo schon längst vorbei, aber der Pavillon ist weiter geöffnet.

Auch wenn ich nicht alles gesehen habe (ich mußte die Augen zumachen, sonst wäre ich umgekippt vor lauter Sinneseindrücken), ist der Pavillon grandios: Irgendwo zwischen Fantasie, Illusion, Traum und Wirklichkeit.

The scenario act like an universe, indeed without suns, moons, stars and planets as a whole creation, but with jellies as a harmonic world. Man is standing before with amazement in order to comprehend the subject first in extracts.

Das ganze Szenario wirkte wie ein Universum auf mich, nur dass keine Planeten, Sonnen, Monde und Sterne zu einem Ganzen zusammenfinden, sondern Quallen bilden das harmonische Ganze und der Mensch steht staunend davor, um erstmal einen kleinen Teil zu erfassen.

The bad news: In China, processed jellyfish are desalted by soaking in water overnight and eaten cooked or raw. The dish is often served shredded with a dressing of oil, soy sauce, vinegar and sugar, or as a salad with vegetables. I have eaten jellyfish but not the two dancing yellyfish. That won’t mend matters.

Quallen bevölkern seit mehr als 500 Millionen Jahren die Weltmeere. Diese Qalle ist im Shanghai Ocean Aquarium aufgenommen. Im Hintergrund lief übrigens klassische Musik. Ich stand über eine Stunde staunend vor den Quallen. Diese hier sieht ein bisschen verknotet aus, was aber täuscht: Die Bewegungen sind sehr ästhetisch.

The white-yellow flowers of the Plumeria-tree have an intensive sweet flavour. Photographed in Sri Lanka 10/2011 during a storm with alternating rain and sun, so beautiful light.The common name "Frangipani" comes from an Italian noble family, a sixteenth-century marquess who invented a plumeria-scented perfume. Many English speakers also simply use the generic name "plumeria". In Hawaii, the name is "melia". In Sri Lanka, it is referred to as araliya and (in English) as the Temple Tree. In Sri Lankan tradition, Plumeria is associated with worship.

Die weiß-gelben Blüten des Frangipani-Baumes verströmen einen intensiven, süßlichen und sehr angenehmen Duft. Aufgenommen in Sri Lanka 10/2011.

Shellyfish in Shanghai Ocean Aquarium, 7th of December 2011.
Jellies have roamed the seas for at least 500 million years, and possibly 700 million years or more, making them the oldest multi-organ animal.
