standing on the edge of tomorrow

about 10 seconds after this shot was taken, the camera, lens, tripod, and photographer got soaked by the oncoming storm pictured here. The wind gusts, and sudden downpour is a common occurance during the sunset hours in thailand during the wet season. I seriously believed i had enough time to get under roof the minute i felt that light forewarning drizzle, this storm did not carry any drizzle or any sort of warning. just a sudden gust and whoosh im caught under a storm. Camera and lens i'm thankful to say made it fine.

Capri seen by Mount Solaro

taken high atop Mount Solaro on the majestic island of Capri. I swear it was one of the most beautiful sights and one of the most dangerous places i have ever taken a picture. the beauty is what you see..but the danger was that on the other side of the rail lies a nice cliff drop that tops almost 2,000 feet easy. its pretty rare to be so high above hundreds and hundreds of white seagulls flying around.

This was also not the prettiest day, in fact it rained the entire time we were on the island (which was a shame) but despite the cold, gloomy, windy, and drizzly conditions i still managed to capture some of the best shots from my whole trip up there. the fields of grass flow relentlessly in the wind, the drama in the skies. for a person who's lived nearly all of his life at sea level, this was a very special moment for me. I breathed real slow, took every ounce of that fresh air, and made the most of my brief time up there. It felt so special being up so high on what seemed like the edge of the earth. I do wish to come back here someday..
