One last spider (Argiope aurantia) for Halloween. Many orbweaving spiders make these features in the webs called stabilimenta. Their purpose is not clear.

Arrowhead micrathena, a spiny spider, eating a flying insect that flew into her web. This was a really quick bite and I only got a couple shots off during this event. She made quick work of the bug and got back to the center of the web.

This spiny spider, arrowhead micrathena, seems to always have some silk connected to the web from her spinnerette, even while moving out of the center of the web to have lunch (see next image). The spinnerette is also quite angular.

Chihuly glass exhibit, Seattle June 2012. The entire exhibit was serious eye candy. Absolutely gorgeous glasswork and staging. It was really great walking around and ogling the work. I think my mouth was hanging open every time I entered a new part of the exhibit. It was dark, so I set ISO to 1600 and used a wide open aperture (4.0 in my case). This one isn't bad.

Interior of the church of Gordes, France. My first attempt at a polar coordinate transformation. This church has a gorgeous interior. Not quite perfect and a little akimbo but probably not bad considering it started out life as a tourist snap. Thanks to Molair for the inspiration.

Seemed that a bleach bypass process and a little posterizing would benefit the original. In retrospect, the truck is somewhat annoying but it is a street scene.

There were loads of bees in the lavender. In looking at this picture afterwards, I also found a dragonfly that I never even noticed.
