Better viewed in light box (and the song will bright up your day!)

Cebolinha came home with a big Valentine heart and singing:
You're my Honeybunch, Sugarplum
Pumpy-umpy-umpkin, You're my Sweetie Pie
You're my Cuppycake, Gumdrop
Snoogums-Boogums, You're the Apple of my Eye
And I love you so and I want you to know
That I'll always be right here
And I love to sing sweet songs to you
Because you are so dear
Wifi at my family's place is acting up, so its very time consuming to upload anything... this was taken on my way down to Brazil, at o'Hare airport, I had a 5 hour lay over, so may as well kill some time.... I hope all is well with everybody. Sorry if I can't comment as I use to for a while, its too hot to be inside....

Peyto Lake is bluer on the other side of the Fence

Monica & Cebolinha posted a photo:

Peyto Lake in Canada is probably the most photographed lakes in the world. It is situated ideally on the Icefields Parkway and just 24.6 miles from Lake Louise, in the province of Alberta, Canada. This lake got its name from Bill Peyton, an early 20th Century explorer who explored the Canadian Rockies during the days of Canada’s western expansion.
The word gorgeous comes to the mind whenever the image of Peyto Lake conjures up. That is the magic of this lake. The lake if situated on the Iceland Parkway located in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies.
It is believed that the lake is formed by a rapidly shrinking glacier in a valley of Waputik Range, between Caldron Peak, Peyto Peak and Mount Jimmy Simpson.
Peyto Lake is at an elevation of 1,860 m (6,100 ft) and the maximum length of the lake is 2.8 km and the maximum width is 0.8 km. with a surface area of 5.3 km, this lake accounts to be one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.
Some visitors believe the lake to be shaped like the head of a wolf, while some people say it is formed in a necklace like form. The most spectacular aspect that makes this lake a favorite among tourists is its incredible blue color.
Due to its turquoise water color, the image of Peyto Lake appears frequently in the lake or illustrated atlases on Canada. It is assumed that the color of the lake is given by a fine rock powder that comes from melting glaciers in the lake.
Peyto Lake cannot be directly seen from the road. The visitors have to take a short trail of approx. 15 minutes to view the paradisiacal lake from above and they are usually not prepared to trek before they reach the point of panoramic view. Yes, the trek is steep and requires hard effort to reach the lake. But stay assured as the trek is worth every effort. Your whole fatigue would wane off once you get to the view!
And, luckily, you can stop and read some of the informational plaques along the way while you catch your breath. Again, this lake is best when it comes to fishing. You will; require a fishing license before you fish here. You’ll find a variety of fish including rainbow trout, northern pike and sockeye salmon here.
Though the Icefields Parkway has some breathtaking views around every corner but it’s believed Peyto Lake takes away the prize as one of the best.
Even when visitors visit Peyto Lake fully prepared, the lake’s allure catches them unawares with its surrealism. A great place to stop, Peyto Lake in Canada is simply beyond beggar’s description.

Go wide

Monica & Cebolinha posted a photo:

Go wide, and don't worry about details... that's was the request...
I got paired up for the first week’s challenge with one of the most talented Flickr members and contact. María.
She is the queen of self-portraits’, she has an eye for details and gorgeous compositions, and even though she states on her profile that she doesn’t know what she’s doing… she really does.
If you don’t know her, please take a few minutes to look at her FANTASTIC STREAM
www.flickr.com/photos/40032755@N06/

María challenged me to go WIDE.

Edmonton’s River Valley is really pretty, especially in the summer when we have day light pretty much until 10 PM… It’s really wonderful… I thought it would be nice to take a WIDE shot of the city’s most beautiful view. But, I wasn’t counting on pretty much 18 straight days of rain. The river is muddy and very full; the air is haze… so we thought… We thought that it was humidity, but it wasn’t. It is smoke from a huge forest fire north of Fort McMurray (another city) drifting over Edmonton.
María, I hope you like it! The first shot is SOOC and was taken at 9 PM. To see the real wide effect, please see it in Light Box! +2 in comments.

Did you know that ...gorilla lives in groups, called a “troop,” of an average of 5 to 9 gorilla depending on the species. The head of the group is called a silverback, the adult male. Males weigh in the 300-500 pound range, with females half that size. Babies from 1 to 3 years weigh about 20-30 pounds. They learn to walk at 5 to 6 months. They share mom’s nest until they are 4 to 6 years old.
The arms of a gorilla are longer than its legs. This enables them to walk on the knuckles of their hands—knuckle-walk. The different species of gorilla have different length and color of hair. Plus the shape of their skull and teeth size varies.

Gorillas are shy, non-aggressive animals. They never attack humans unless provoked. They will, however, fight for possession of a female as well as fight to defend their troop.
