Lake Michigan was covered by a heavy blanket of clouds on the 31st, while Wisconsin and the Western Coast was enjoying some post-Sandy clearing ....I love the effect we see from Michigan when this happens with the thin line of color banding the horizon. Probably more meaningful to me as it brings to mind the day at age 6 when my teacher told me a picture I drew was wrong as I had colored a blue band for the sky across only the top of the picture ---- to me this effect says "The blue sky does not always met the horizon!" (I never liked art class after that day)
