"Mühle Am Wall" Bremen - HDR

This is a historical windmill in the center of Bremen, Germany where I live.
The RAW files are 5 years old and you can find the old version in my PhotoStream), but I revisited them to see if 5 years more experience and the new versions of my tools make a difference.
3 exposures processed in Photomatix Pro, color/sharpness as always courtesy of Nik Software.

Hans Zimmer Studio - HDR for real

Another shot of Oscar-awarded film composer Hans Zimmers out-of-this-world studio.
Hard to believe, but it takes HDR to capture this room - conventional camera sensors fail miserably. The whole room is just dark, light-absorbing surfaces (velvet, wood) and a few pointed light sources. There's no way to just "take a photo of it".
This image is created from 6 exposures (0.7 bracketing), processed in Photomatix Pro, with tons of subtle manual color and light corrections in Niksoftware Viveza, and some Nik Sharpener Pro.

This is a picture taken during a hike through the beautiful hills of the Corbieres in South France.
I recently started experimenting with drastically increasing the resolution of my camera by taking multiple exposures at an increased focus length and stitching them together - squeezing 60 MP like this one (13000 x 4500 pixels) out of a 12 MP camera. Zoom in for detail even at the larger distances in the right part of the landscape. I'll be back with more pseudo high-res pictures and instructions. Unlike more elaborate solutions such as GigaPan, this really simple and can be done with any camera.

Found this on a photo tour across Bremens Industry Harbor - an old car mounted on top of what seems to be an old ship diesel.
As my friend and HDR guru Trey Ratcliff puts it: Although HDR often may look surreal and unnatural, it often is what you saw when you took the photo. That's the case here.

Albas Sandstone Panorama - High-Res

Another, almost 10.000 pixels wide high-res panorama from the beautiful Corbieres.
I was fascinated by the colorful sandstone rocks close to the Albas village.

Download the original size for incredible detail.

The high resolution was created by taking 8x2 exposures with focus and exposure locked, and merging them in PS Photomerge. Color processing and sharpening using Nik Software.

Another HDR->Infrared Filter image. This technique is growing on me - the result is so much more expressive than the color version.

Another shot I took at a hike in the natural reserve close to Bremen, Germany.

This photo is an experiment of combining HDR with the Infrared Film Effect, which creates stunning contrasts. HDR brings out more color and contrast, with Infrared Film then draws on for maximum effect.
