I take this photograph during the bachelor party of a friend of mine when, after a short week end (maybe even too long..) in the north of Europe, we met again together in a country house for grill, drink, and find some peace.

It's been a beautiful experience, yes I think there's something of special to find again some people who shared with you a period of time in the past, and the time spent together can remain drawn in your heart.

This image arrives from a late august hot night, and it's the first attempt to make a long exposition with my newest (1966..) Rolleiflex 2.8 F.

Although not much things has changed, it seem so far away those summer days when, escaped from the disasters caused by the earthquake in Emilia, where I live and worked, we tried and we found shelter in a few days of alientating and false normality, under the hot south italian summer.

I shoot this photograph without tripod, I just put the camera on the windowsill of the bedroom, tilting it until I found the picture I desired. After that I locked the shutter button with the security system of the camera, I was lying on the bed and of course I fell asleep ..
Fortunately, after about 40 minutes I was awakened by the noise of my partner, who come into the room, and who - unknowingly- saved the picture!

This image comes from my holiday of last august, and it's composition I found in front of a home that's between beautiful mountains, on italian alps.
It's been one month since I have got home from holidays, and it seems a longer period.
I am satisfied with this shot; I exposed the film searching the perfect balance of lights between the portion at sun and the shadows too and the image looks (almost) like I wanted to. It required some times to get here.

The Uluwatu Monkey Temple is a spectacular set of Balinese monasteries perched about towering cliffs along the beautiful rugged coastline with (not really friendly) monkeys playing everywhere. Located on the west face of the south peninsula, it's about a 1 hour scooter ride from Kuta/Seminyak area. The scooter ride to get here is fairly calm without too much traffic and the road is very simple to follow, yes, I know, it's quite incredible for Bali..

This one comes from the Monkey temple of Uluwatu in Bali, where hundreds of these baboons lives and are venerated.
They are a little dangerous, not because they're aggresive (b.t.w. they ARE aggressive and violent), but because they steal everything they can.
When I was there I saw them have steal slippers, towels, bags, shoes, and so other. After the robbery they run away, but not so far, so you can find some couragious local people that (not for few money) follow the monkey and ingage a duel to get back the things stolen.

You can image how I held on to me my Hasselblad.

Cockfighting, near Ubud, Indonesia - 2011

Hallo everybody!
This one comes directly from an illegal cockfighting field, hidden in the darkest side of a Ubud jungle, where a group of men (only men), have some fun after work after sunset playing some money and betting on a bloody challenge between cocks.

I was the only foreigner, I was the only one with a camera, I was the only blonde, I was the only one taller than 5 ft. First, everybody look at me, after some minutes I was accepted ($), and than I can start to take shots.
Under the trees, after the sunset, the lights was very poor. I shoot 2 roll and there's no picture faster than 1/15.

Cooking corn, Trawangan, Indonesia - 2012

Hallo everybody!
I shot this one in the little island of Trawangan in the Gili's archipelago, where the sun burn and the sea is light blue.
In the little port (just a pier), there's an hovel where the tourist information centre can help the unlucky tourist that arrives without reservations.
Behind this, on the only trail on island, there was a man that was cooking corn, some horse, and me.
