I love going to the theatre to see tribute bands. My very favourite one is the Bootleg Beatles.
They're brilliant! At the end of the show, I noticed that these posters were being given away
so I got in the queue!

This pretty little Aviary has been recently restored by the National Trust after being very derelict.
It's at Tyntesfield which is a National Trust property near Bristol.

I love white furniture and furnishings, so one of my favourite shops to browse in is
The White Company. There isn't one local to where I live, so I have to wait until I visit
another town. This one is in Gloucester Quays. I like the letter 'h', but I don't know if
it's for sale or if it's advertising.

Now that shops have their summer clothes in stock, I've seen lots of red shoes. With
the weather so cold and wintery and all of us still wearing coats, hats, gloves and
scarves in April, I wonder if there will be any more well known names disappearing
from the High Street?

When I was window shopping in my local retail park, I spotted this pile of cushions.
Straight away I was singing the Beatles song and I realised that I'd found topic #9

This pretty little church is well known for the snowdrops, crocuses and daffodills
that grow in it's churchyard. It's clock is featured in the previous image. I love the
shadow of the tree on the tower.

There's something very appealing about statues of lions. This one stands on
the canopy over the front door of the White Lion Hotel in Upton upon Severn.
I love his golden mane, but I wonder why he looks so sad?

Resurfacing the road

Last Sunday the main road through Upton upon Severn was closed so that resurfacing
work could continue. Here the hot tarmac is poured onto the road and flattened down.
The tarmac was so hot that there were clouds of steam billowing out across the road..

Empty shop

There are lots of empty shops in town centres and High Streets at the moment. They're
usually taken over and opened up again with a new shop fairly quickly, but this one is
still empty. It was opened with a flourish just over a year ago with glasses of champagne,
tiny little cupcakes and a well known local celebrity. There's a notice in the window to say
that Mollie is working from home because renovations are going to be carried out in the
building. Nothing's happening yet though. It's been like this for several weeks.

Summer clothes

It's been so cold with snow and a bitterness in the air, that people are still wearing
hats, coats, scarves and gloves. This Easter weekend, it would be so nice if we had
some warm sunny weather, but it looks as though we're going to have to wait a bit
longer.

It must be very hard for the shops who should be selling their summer stock now.
Their windows are full of lovely summer clothes, but I think it's wishful thinking to
expect to sell them before we get some Spring weather!

I wish it would get warmer!

A chimney fire in Upton upon Severn

Upton upon Severn is used to having road closures due to flooding, roadworks, the Folk
Festival, the Jazz Festival and the work on the bridge. But this week the road was closed
because of the fire engines putting out a chimney fire. You can see how much smoke there
is that has poured out of the chimney.

I had gone into Upton on the bus, but with the road blocked like this, there would be no bus
to take me home! Fortunately, I saw someone I knew who was going my way and gave me a
lift home.

I like the family of Polar Bears on this Coca Cola can. It had been thrown down in the
grounds of a private building. What does the person who threw it think will happen to it?
Do they expect it to bio-degrade? If they can't be bothered to put it in the bin, why do they
think that someone else will do it for them?

These chairs and table are on the platform of Great Malvern Station outside the cafe.
They look quite inviting, but it's too cold to sit outside at this time of year. Everyone
was inside in the warm drinking their tea and coffee.
