Whilst in the Railway Tavern for some Cold Tea, we Old Marconi Employees decided to check which Cellphones,Mobiles or Smartphones we were using.
Whilst preparing to take the picture one of the mobiles began to ring. There was some amusement because the owner picked up the wrong unit and tried to answer it.

View of the old Marconi Site as seen from the old back gate.Having worked in all of the buildings it is very sad to see the destruction of a very important site.
But progress must happen.
To the right of the White House was a building called 720. This building when build had the largest unsupported roof in Europe.
Having worked in there for many years it is very sad to see that it has demolished.

The water level was lowered on the River Can so that debris could be cleaned from it. This photo was taken on the Stone Bridge in the High Street at the Moulsham Street end

'A Soldier's Song' One Man Show at The Cramphorn Theatre Chelmsford 2013

'A Soldier's Song' was performed by Ken Lukowiak who was recalling his duties with 2 Para in the Falklands, especially at Goose Green.
His performance was excellent, along with the the superb surround sound audio that complemented Ken's recounting the events.
One person in the audience had to turn down his hearing aid.
The accompanying audio was very realistic with Aircraft, Shells and bullets flying everywhere.
After the performance there was a question and answer session.
I took along the two books in the photo and Ken the Author kindly signed them for me.
I worked in the Falkland Islands in 1983 and visited most of the battle sites. During the show Ken's recollections meant I could picture the events having been there.

Recycle do not throw away.

London DUKW Tour 2012

This DUKW 'Beatrice' was our transport for our tour of London including a trip on the River Thames.
It Departs a short distance from the London Eye, the route passes the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Downing Street, Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square via Green Park.

Splashdown is at Vauxhall, from the ramp opposite to the MI6 spy headquarters on the other side of the river.
We were aboard a piece of British history, as this amphibious vehicle was used to take troops ashore for the D-Day landings.

Lets hope this scene with the Police Horses is not to disappear with the proposed disbanding of the Mounted Police Horses. The amount of conversation with Rider and pedestrians and the close attention with the horse was very pleasing to behold.
