Olympic Bell

The Olympic bell in the Montjuïc Olympic Park. It was cast in bronze for the Barcelona Olympic Games of 1992. The Olympic rings are engraved on both sides. The bell rings twice a day, at noon and 7 o'clock.

Torre Calatrava

Santiago Calatrava's beautiful and original communications tower was built for Telefónica in the heart of the 1992 Olympic site, to carry coverage of the Games. Aside from its distinctive structural form, the tower is innovative in enclosing the circular platform of microwave dishes, replacing the normal clutter with a serene white arc. As a result the 130 meter structure became a welcome feature in the Olympic park.
The overall form of the tower is based on a Calatrava sketch of a kneeling figure making an offering. The base on which the figure 'kneels' is covered in broken glazed tiles in recognition of Gaudi. The orientation of the tower means that the shadow of the central needle on the circular platform acts as a (rather impractical) sundial.

The plaza between Palau Sant Jordi Sports Arena and the Olympic Stadium still looks very modern.
The metal wire sculpture on top of the posts by Aiko Miyawaki is entitled Utsuroski.

The white tower was built for Telefónica to transmit television coverage of the 1992 Summer Olympics Games in Barcelona. The 136 m tower is located in the Olympic park, and represents an athlete holding the Olympic Flame.
Because of the tower's orientation, it works also as a giant sundial, which uses the Europa square to indicate the hour.

The brand new BMX Track is located next to the Velodrome in the north of the Olympic Park.
After the Games, the temporary seating will be removed and the BMX Track will be reconfigured to make it suitable for riders of all ages and abilities.
An internationally-renowned BMX track designer helped to create a fast and challenging course, which features an eight-metre high ramp at the start, followed by jumps, bumps and tightly banked corners.
