Sant Pau del Camp ("Saint Paul in the fields") is a church and former monastery located just off Paral-lel and a few minutes walk from our hotel. We made a point of visiting on Thursday morning. It's the oldest church in Barcelona, dating back to the 10th century.

A colonnaded pathway in Parc Güell, where the road projects out from the hillside, with the vaulting forming a retaining wall which curves over to support the road and transmit the load onto sloping columns.

Having dinner in O'Grady's on the Pier, in Barna. We had the best table in the restaurant, upstairs in the corner, with views over Galway Bay and Barna Pier :-)

Angela at Kingston Lacy, on the path leading to the Kitchen Garden, via the Japanese Tea Garden.
The Japanese garden is approached at the top of the Lady Walk through a large (2.4m wide) thatched Chumon gated entrance with timber and bamboo panels in the style of the Meimei-an teahouse entrance in Matsue, Japan. In this instance the gates were a direct copy of the Meimei-an entrance although the thatch is to a local design.

New Camera!

This was the first real shot I took with my new d5100. After six years of sterling service, I've now relegated my d50 to the role of "spare body".
My family were visiting from across the pond and we headed to Sissinghurst Castle in Kent, a favourite spot of my cousin Yodih, seen here with Angela as I served up tea and cakes from the NT cafe :-)
