Cute little lamb, the only time he left his mothers side. He looks like hes checking me out and ready to run back to his mum. Taken at 300mm because I couldn't get any closer.

This baby african pygmy hedgehog is possibly the cutest thing I have ever had chance to photograph. So small and full of character. He was a little poser in the tunnel & while sleepy but once he woke up a bit was running around and a little harder to shoot!

Even cuter when viewed large ;)

the dear hunter | deer fawn

I shot this cute baby deer but only with my Canon 5d :) I spent around 15 mins tracking it as it played and grazed in the field. It stayed at the perfect focal distance for the 300mm and I this shot was taken just before it sneezed.

Another fun year of photography is almost coming to an end and this shot is probably my favourite for the year, so far, can't believe how fast it has gone.. I defiantly want to shoot more next year - a 365 is out of the question, I just dont have the time to see it through but something similar might be quite cool to try :)

Update: I hit 250,000 total views today, thankyou everyone!

Cute little giraffe calf feeding at Chester Zoo, all the best bits where just out of reach... Kinda like the grass is always greener on the other side thingy for cows but with trees.. and for giraffes...

Red Panda (firefox) at Chester Zoo

One of my favourite animals at Chester Zoo, the Red Panda or Firefox.

Random fact: Red pandas were once thought to be closely related to the giant panda, but genetics has shown they are more closely allied with the raccoon and weasel families.

baby lion cub | Chester Zoo (RIP) :(

Lion cub taken just before Christmas at Chester Zoo, England. He was out playing with his mum and dad keeping the small crowd entertained!

An update on this little fella (via becki):

It is with deep regret that Chester Zoo announces the death of Asiatic Lion cub Chakra. Chakra, who was born in August last year, was put to sleep on Friday evening (January 9).

Regrettably, Chakra had been diagnosed with a developmental disorder which had recently become apparent as he grew and became more active. - link - January 9 2009

Really sad and tragic news :(
