I wanted to shoot some sunset shots and thought the pole was a nice touch - until the two lovers stopped and started getting all mushy with each other -totally making the shot!

While they've been talking about it for years now, the Canterbury - the pub that's been on that corner for as long as I can remember - is closing down in a couple of months.

While I never went in there much (the food, as I recall was kind of skanky), it's still sad to see a landmark go away.

So with the servers down at work, they told us to pound sand. Since it was a nice-ish day, I went to the Peach Arch park on the Canadian border.

Sadly no passport so I couldn't actually cross over - but I suppose technically I was 50 feet into Canada, so there you go.

So I decided to take my new super-duper 500mm long lens and x2 magnifier to the Woodland Park Zoo out for a trial run today. This fellow is actually a pretty damn far distance away from the Keep Tourists Out fence.

The interesting thing about the costumes at the Emerald City Comic Con? The most popular characters were the Avengers - but the second most popular? Everyone it seemed, had a bow tie or fez or long multi-colored scarf or pinstripe suit with converse.
