Chipola River at Flood Stage

Due to recent rains, the Chipola River just south of Florida Caverns State Park flooded. This area is usually a boat ramp near a bridge. The park across the highway was under several feet of water as well. The river crested at 22.97 feet just a day earlier than this photo. Flood stage is 19 feet.

Water bubbles up from the aquifer straight out of the ground, creating the lighter, circular patches in the bottom of the water.
