A trip to the Bouctouche Dune on the Northumberland Strait in mid-July 2012.
We usually go here at least once a year.
It is located less than 1 hour north-east of Moncton.
I was looking for Blue Herons fishing there today, but the tide was too high so there were none to be seen.
Today I was shooting with my Nikon and 55-300mm lens, hoping to get close-ups of wildlife, but all I saw were seagulls and crows -- which I can see around our house any time.

A visit to the Bouctouche Dune in late April 2007. A walk along the boardwalk, a view of a mother red fox and her young kits, and of the dune and beach.
In fall 2010, there was an enormous tidal storm surge that devastated the dune and demolished the boardwalk.

DSC_0157:My wife Suzanne spotted this interesting pattern in the sand as we walked along the repaired boardwalk at La Dune. As the coastal wind whips the grass, it spins around and around and makes this circular pattern.

DSC_0161. The boardwalk at the Bouctouche Dune in Kent County, New Brunswick used to go on for several kilometers, until last fall when heavy tidal surges destroyed much of it. About 2 km of it was replaced, but much of it remains still remains unfixed, a testament to the power of fall and winter storms along the Northumberland Strait.
Notice the building in the background. It is tilted.
