this is a long exposure reflection shot captured around Montrose Harbor in the north side of Chicago...it was a beautiful night for harbor shots as the waters looked calm and serene...just cropped it to 16x9 format and played around with the fade slider during post work to achieve this blue-grey monochromatic look...

met up with some colleagues in Milwaukee, Wisconsin yesterday for a charity photowalk around the Milwaukee Art Museum area...we had a really good turn out and had fun the whole time even though my gouty foot was causing me some pain...the purpose of the event was to send the money generated from the walk to the victims of Typhoon Pablo in the Philippines which was one of the worst ever typhoons to hit the southern part of the country...thanks to all who came and participated, you guys rock!

Long exposures can really bring out some deliciously awesome color tones when you photograph a big city like Chicago at this time of the night...when you wait at that right moment when the sun is just throwing out the last rays of it's sunset colors and blue hour is transitioning plus the vapors of light pollution from the city gets into the action, you can get some pretty colorful frames of the city...

bright lights from the city, silhouettes and shadows, sweeping clouds overhead and colorful reflections are elements i try to incorporate when shooting night time cityscapes...i think in this frame, they all play harmoniously together...

Trailblazing in the City of Florence

this light trails image was captured last year during our 2 week tour of Italy...my wife went into the store in the middle of this image to buy some gelato so i hurriedly set up for some long exposure shots while waiting...just put the camera on a dry spot on the ground close to the puddle and waited for some scooters and mini cars to pass along so i could get some vibrant light trails in the shot...my first try came out decent and turned out to be one of my fave shots from that city...pls .View On Black
