Cairn O'Mount road was finally open last week so I had a good opportunity to visit the same spot as previous images from the area for the portfolio. Unfortunately, there wasn't as much snow as in the previous week but I now understand why they close such pathway as there were huge walls of snow gathered to one side caused by snowdrifts and of course snowploughs. It would have been such a magnificent view with all of the hills fully covered in snow.

Another from the winter portfolio, not sure this one will make it at this stage as I have planned many visits to this area in particular as I cannot get to the other side as the road remains closed.

Taken in the surroundings of Clachnaben. There was a 35-40cm of snowfall in places and this gave an opportunity for very few locals to climb up to Clachnaben and ski thier way down. A joy to watch! I think this is the most beautiful area so close to me. Looking forward to visiting during the other seasons.

Unfortunately, the exact place I wanted to go to was closed as the rangers don't want to risk rescuing people on Cairn O'Mount. So, we took a walk not far from the snow barriers and found a much better view of Clachnaben and Bennachie. Not surprisingly I spoted 3 silly people close to Clachnaben, in another photograph taken at 15:44!!! I hope they had flashlights.

Looking towards Bennachie, NW.
Very cold late afternoon looking at the invisible sun setting.
As part of project 15 Ls, same view - different seasons.
This is a pano-merge, in Ps, of 7 images that were individually post-processed in Lr (Calibration and Lens Correction). The actual file size is 1.77GB and straight from this I could print to over 2 meters, if I had such a printer ;-P
Lee filter ND soft grad 0.6 was use in-camera in each individual image and correcting the position when necessary.

Lake Hume. This beautiful tranquil lake contains the remains of trees from previous bushfires. They're sitting in the water as if they were sculptures. Even though they are burnt and drown they look amazingly beautiful and at peace. I wish I had more time in this area to have comeback to it during low light.

This one has to be redone this winter as there are a few distractions in the foreground. Also the path along the site has changed a bit and so I'm able to find a better angle without disturbing the ground too much. Like in the previous pano. This is not a view that will make to the portfolio, it's just for me.

Clachnaben (archaically "Cloch-na'bain"; Scottish Gaelic: "Clach na Beinne") is a 589-metre hill in Glen Dye, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is a distinctive hill visible from many points on Lower Deeside and is topped with a large granite tor.

Amazing location on Bregagh Road near Amoy. These magnificent Beech trees were planted sometime during the 18th century. A site that begs to be photographed during all seasons; a place to go back to again and again.

To get to this great vantage point, I almost died by sinking into very soft, very wet peatbog (upto my knees). What it looked like a good place for crossing... it wasn't! It did add to the experience though. Lol!
