It's time for my globular magic again! Happy Miniature Sunday, Origami edition! :-)

This is the August entry for my series of seasonal globular digi-magic upon our Toronto as seen from the Riverdale Park toward Broadview Avenue, filled with the cute buildings of lovely Greektown, the Byzantine-like church including :-)

It was one perfect August day with the good mix of the sun and clouds on my Byzantine planet .... and this time I helped my origami Canada Geese to fly over the little Toy-ronto planet to their destination :-) Seems that the spells of origami - globular - texture digi-magic are working very well together!

A note about origami: I have designed this model of Canada Goose some time ago for some greeting card project... but not came around to diagram it yet. So, happy folding something else :-) ...say in our online Origami Studio www.oriland.com/studio/main.php

It's still pouring rain here... so it creates quite a watery mood :-)
Saw this strange and beautiful plant one day and up close it felt totally underwater-y... Had to cast a bit of my texture magic to enhance the mood :-)
I had cast some origami - globular - texture digi-magic upon my Byzantine planet yet again :-) This time as the season of weddings has started I though of Origami Bride & Groom that flying above the little planet being happy together :-)

I've got some inspiration form Marc Chagall's "Au dessus de la Ville" painting, those who know it, know what I mean :-)

A note about origami: The figurines are about 4 inches (10 cm) high, folded from different types of fine Japanese paper, including hand-made Moriki Kozo for Bride's rose, hair and Grooms costume & hair, as well as the delicate tissue with flecks of gold for Bride's dress & veil :-)
For those interested origami enthusiasts, the folding instructions for similar origami dolls can be found in our eBook Origami Little People.
...catching up with my fave spot of Toronto's mixed forest.

This is from the special sunset we had on June Solstice last month... we had quite a dramatic thunderstorm on that day and it calmed out in the evening with freshness and almost magic ambiance to it ... so the transition of sunset into blue hour was quite special!

Walked by this tree in the end of June and was so enchanted by the row of orange lilies that cheerfully accompanied my fave Ash tree... so can't resist to use my paint-brush on this scene :-) Hence, need to add this to Ash tree chronicles :-)

In case you missed the previous months by this Ash tree, you are most welcome to look through the set or you may like to see it as a slide show.

We are celebrating a special day today...
Happy Canada Day / Bonne Fête du Canada to all the Canadians and all who celebrate :-)

It's time for my globular magic again. Happy Miniature Sunday, Canada Day edition! :-)

This is the June entry for my series of seasonal globular digi-magic upon our Toronto as seen from the Riverdale Park toward Broadview Avenue, filled with the cute buildings of lovely Greektown, the Byzantine-like church including :-)

I had cast some origami - globular - texture digi-magic upon my Byzantine planet and thought to bring our Canadian festivity with the special origami balloon ride! :-)

You know, Yuri (aka Julian) and I are working on a new upcoming origami book with our designs of hot air balloons... Designing and folding parts are ready and just minor diagramming and photographing are left... and the book will be ready soon! :-) So have to bring this origami magic to Toy-ronto yet again. Cheers :-)

Here is the June update on Riverdale Farm, which is located practically in Downtown of Toronto and is a unique site of the preserved history, a living representation of a rural farm in Ontario. It is really quite funny and cool to have this late-19th-century-style farm right in the urban downtown :-)

Since the last time I captured it in early may, the scene transformed significantly into a green paradise!

Happy Miniature Sunday, smoothly transforming into Monday, but still Origami Edition :-)

Continuing tilt-shift fun with the origami theme in my Toy-ronto and moving from paper districts to the real ones! :-) We do have many trees in our miniature city, but still in the dense downtown we need more green life! ...so I'm voting for Green Roofs - let's turn them into gardens and plant trees and flowers there! I started with this origami garden and think it looks great :-)

More of toy-some tilt-shift fun is coming next Miniature Sunday - stay tuned / bientot a l'ecran ;-)

Going through my summer impressions of our Withrow Park, located in Greektown here in Toronto...

It was a hot and cloudy time around Midsummer and it was amazing to see how this majestic Maple tree was absorbing the moisture right from the air... Of course, I had my input with my magic brush too :-)

The next summer stop by this tree will show July's delights, stay tuned ;-)

Toronto's Mixed Forest. Summer Solstice Thunderstorm

...catching up with my fave spot of Toronto's mixed forest.

Since we have rain all day here, I thought I will post a thunderstorm-y image from Toronto's mixed forest, I promised while ago :-)

We had quite a dramatic thunderstorm on June Solstice, when the image was taken, The whole day was absolutely special with dramatic changes in weather and just 2 hours later from the thunderstorm pictured here it ended up with a magnificent sunset, which I captured in my mixed forest spot too and posted earlier, see here :-)

The series Toronto's Mixed Forest
Origami Palm Gardens for Toy-ronto Roofs :-)

Continuing my Toy-ronto Life series...

Enough rains! :-) Back to a sunny day in Toy-ronto and "Green Roofs" project! :-)

Have to set up more origami gardens in our miniature city and this particular one is palm-tree themed... You know why? Because it's located not far from the Palm House of our Allan Gardens :-) You may see its characteristic white dome in the middle left of the image. Those of you visiting my stream often know this Palm House from my other series. :-)

So, our little origami Palm Garden on the rooftop is almost ready and it surely will add more green life to the dense downtown of our miniature city :-)

More of toy-some tilt-shift fun is coming next Miniature Sunday - stay tuned / bientot a l'ecran ;-)

A Note for Origami Enthusiasts: The diagrams of the palm trees can be found in our collection Origami Sailing along with other Treasure Island items, and Sailing ships and various fish!
Happy June Solstice, everyone!

I saw this magnificent sunrise display recently - the magic rays just danced all over the painterly sky canvas and our sleepy Toronto cityscapes, as if saying "Good Morning!" :-)

This related to an enerjazzing music piece Fire Element by my Julian Ray. Give it a listen, if you need to charge yourself with the energy :-)

Continuing to my Sun Magic series...

Bright Early Summer. Withrow Park. Toronto

Katrin Ray posted a photo:

Continuing to paint 'Withrow Park on Canvas' in frames of 'My Magic Brush' series...

As the calendar summer closes to the end I'm reviewing my summer impressions of our Withrow Park, located in Greektown here in Toronto.

I observe this majestic Maple tree over the seasons and here is an early summer view - June was very pleasant and balanced with the sunny and rainy periods. So it's an example of a typical sunny day in June ;-) Of course, I have to touch the scene with my magic brush :-)
