The Double Red Flags were still up, The city was getting the beach
ready for the Jimmy Buffett Concert; and the beach was full of people.
Only a few braved the water - but it was fun to watch them having a
good time. The water was clear on this day, although the girls above
said it was all over their feet.....and no doubt in their hair....LOL

This was taken a little while after they starting draining the tide pools that had
collected on the beach at night during high tide. This was only the beginning
that day of what we could actually see - Also made us wonder what is on the
very bottom of the gulf floor.

Explosion occurred at BP Horizon on April 20, 2010 (This was our Day 74)

The City of Gulf Shores has been most diligent about emptying collected tide pools, and blowing the oily water back into the Gulf. Since this photo was taken two sand
berms have been added to the beach to keep the nightly high tide from depositing
more oil onto our shoreline. Naturally, we have lots of rain this time of year that only
pushes the oily water further inland onto the once sandy white beaches here in
Gulf Shores, Alabama.

I hated taking this shot...just made me sick to see the
collection of oil grow more and more each time I went
down to the beach.

At the far end you can see how long this tide pool goes;
it was one of many on our beaches at the T.

Each day the Life Guard stands get moved closer and closer to the boardwalk.
No one is suppose to go into the water; but they still do. Then they track it into
the condo's swimming pools causing havoc with their filtering systems.

I tried for the sake of my own peace of mind - NOT to capture all the debris, oil,
pools of oily water that have collected on our beautiful beach, in this one shot.
It was pretty with the sun out (in between showers) and the gulf breeze blowing
against your skin. But the heat load was HEAVY and the Humidity was high.

I liked the reflections....well - you've got to look on the
bright side for something - because this oil spill situation
is going to be with us for a long, long time!

We have a MONSTER in the Gulf of Mexico who is ruining our gorgeous
emerald green waters - and at night this VERMIN comes ashore and spits
his FILTH - his POISON all over our beautiful white beaches.

This had just started when we were at the T today. Partially due to all the
scooping of the oil brought in by high time at night, it had created a tide pool
not far from shore. Naturally this has worsened as the days have gone on
