Lion Fish, Pterois volitans" />

A beautiful but deadly Lionfish, Pterois volitans, one of the deadliest fish in the world. A popular aquarium species, this one was shot in a hospital lobby tank in Commack, New York. Their needlelike poisonous spines, however, are only used for defense. Native to Indo-Pacific waters, they have now become established along the U.S. Atlantic coast, seriously threatening local ecosystems. I got lucky with this shot through the glass, with minimal reflections.
