Getting back to photography after a hiatus. This is the Washington DC Metro, Feb 2009. Taken with a Canon G9, edited with Photoshop & Efex Pro. The woman at the front reminds me of my friend Nadia.

This was a fabulous place -- an old church tower on the top of a steep bare hill, with all kinds of history behind it. I visited in October; the weather was completely the opposite of what's shown here -- fall weather, grey and blustery and cold -- but thanks to PS, this is what the tor looks like in summer months.

An artificial hill in Wiltshire, just one of many neolithic landscape features in this area (including the stone circles of Avebury and Stonehenge). Built almost 5000 years ago; it's estimated that it would have taken 500 workers 15 years to build. Nobody knows what it was for.

Photo was taken on the path to the West Kennet Long Barrow; the barrow sits on a ridgeline just across from Silbury Hill.

I just love the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown LA -- wonderful architecture and art, a block from the Disney Hall. It's a beautiful example of architecture that is both modern and reminiscent of various past traditions (the adobe look of the Spanish southwest,the Catholic tradition in the Americas, the cathedral-and-square of Europe etc). This is a military plane flying into the local air force base in my home town of Abilene, Texas. This is the original sky color, I didn't touch it in Photoshop.

Bird on the mud flat

The Wilmington River flat, looking down the cliffs of the Bonaventure Cemetery. When I took the photo, there was about a quarter-mile of mud flats alongside the actual river channel (which is to the right past the edge of this photo). This is near the ocean so some of the mud flats may be from tidal action.

Colonial Park Cemetery is an old cemetery in central Savannah -- it was the primary city cemetery 1750-1850. Many historical figures are buried here. There have been numerous reports of paranormal activity here -- but that's common for much of Savannah, an old city (for America) with a colorful past. Every building seems to have its own resident ghost.
