28/04/2013; Despite that it was a tropical 13 degrees Celsius this sunny afternoon, making plenty of Britons on the streets of Brighton (but then again, not as much on the beach) wear t-shirts and shorts, it wasn't overly crowded at Brighton beach. Where the horizon is a bit bumpy, because it's a bit difficult to make photos for a panorama with my compact camera... XD

23/03/2013; Even though I wasn't feeling very well this particular cold and sleety weekend, especially on Sunday, I couldn't visit London and not check out St. Paul's Cathedral by night.

It was too bad that road works were going on, which obviously wasn't intended in my original plan, but I had to make a shot anyway while I was there.

Seven Dials

JdJ Photography (Aardewerk) posted a photo:

20/03/2013; You got them everywhere, those people that want to go into a discussion with you over respecting people's privacy, and whether or not it's rude to shoot them without their permission, while they clearly don't know a thing about what the heck they're talking about.

I stumbled upon 1 of those people while I was shooting here at the Seven Dials area, and I gave him basically my routine answer: if I would plant my camera practically into someone's face, you could consider it to be rude. But I didn't do that, as I was solely making a long exposure shot of the surroundings and it's traffic, where people cannot be recognized if they just keep walking on.

After that routine speech, I challenged him to take a look at the shot I just made, to see how many people can be recognizably spotted in this shot. Then he shook his head, and turned the other cheek. Knowing he couldn't win it, or knowing we wouldn't ever come to some kind of agreement, I'll leave that in the middle.

Welcome to Chinatown

20/03/2013; I was in London in February as well, and then this main street of London's Chinatown was all decorated with Chinese street lanterns. Problem was that I didn't have my D-SLR and tripod with me back then.

So with high expectations, I went back to Chinatown in London when I was in town 2 weeks ago, only to find out the street lanterns were gone... :( So I suppose they were only there for Chinese newyear, and instead I had to make do with this gate.

Yes, it's still pretty, but nevertheless it's a bit of a disappointment compared to those street lantarns. I suppose this was what I 'needed' to get my karma back in balance again, but she keeps being a b!tch, that's for sure... ;)

20/03/2013; I guess karma bit me in the *peep* after I made my Admiralty Arch capture and my bonus shot at Northumberland Avenue, because there was hardly any (motorized) traffic at Regent Street due to road works further down this pretty street.

Just 2 lousy cars that came out of a side street at the left hand side of this photo in the roughly 20 minutes that I stood there, and then this trafficless shot came out the best because of the ghost and the traffic lights. I suppose you cannot have it all.

30/06/2012; It wasn't as stormy as 2 weeks before, but there was still plenty of wind to create some gnarly (for southern English coast standards anyway) waves.

Not that it helped this guy that much, all he pretty much did, was lying on his board, on falling off of it as soon as he tried to stand up. But I suppose everyone has got to start somewhere, and I have to admit that it's ballsy to begin in these conditions. :)
