Daffodils in Springtime at St Agnes Church, Freshwater Bay, Isle of Wight

It took its time getting here, but spring is well and truly here on the Isle of Wight now!

Two different views of the thatched church at Freshwater Bay to share this morning, the first shot with the 50mm and a shallow DoF and the next with a wide angle.

I know which one i prefer, but its always interesting to hear other opinions.

St Agnes’s was built in 1908 on land donated by Hallam Tennyson, the son of the Victorian Poet Laureate, Alfred Lord Tennyson, using stone from a derelict farmhouse nearby. It's the only thatched church on the island, and one of only 8 in the country

Some classic contrail reflections at Totland Bay from back in the spring of 2010. Similar to a few others i posted back in 2010 at the time of shooting, (there was one a lot like this with a tiny figure walking along the little strip of land) but i've got lots of new contacts who wont have seen them at the time, and i bet lots of my old contacts are as forgetful as me and wont remember the original shots anyway :)

The title is because whenever i post a shot with the tag 'contrails' someone from the chemtrail conspiracy club pipes up and if i dare to suggest that they might be barking up the wrong tree i get shouty emails telling me to WAKE UP man!

Change of pace with a 5-Shot hand-held panorama of Lulworth cove created using the Samyang 8mm Fisheye manual focus lens, it doesn't show in the exif, but i usually have it set to f11.

A little archive trip back to my holidays in dorset last year.

One from the archive, and some classic low tide leading lines at Totland Bay. Similar to a few others i posted back in 2010 at the time of shooting, but i've got lots of new contacts who wont have seen them at the time, and i bet lots of my old contacts are as forgetful as me and wont remember the original shots anyway :)

Right, with most of the country freezing cold and the forecast for more cold and snow this week, the only sensible thing to do is get out more summer beach photos!

Every now and again i realise that i'll never ever catch up with all my archive photos by posting one a day as i generally tend to keep taking new ones at the rate of around 100 a day, so i can either leave them all there to slowly gather pixel dust, or i can do these occasional multiple uploads and see if they can get picked by getty and start earning a living for me, so here you go, its a little archive trip back to my holidays in dorset last year.

The title is related to the last shot of William (see comments)

A few more in my holiday catch up set...

I posted a few action shots of local kite-boarders doing their thing at Compton Bay on the Isle of Wight back in September when it happened, but for some reason I neglected to post lots that i think are worth a look at now, so here's a multiple upload catch-up thingy, hope you enjoy the ride.

Looking back in the archives I found another composition i liked from the stand-up paddle board (SUP) shoot at Compton Bay last spring. This was taken on a gloriously sunny and warm spring afternoon back in March 2012, its hard to imagine that we could be just weeks away from feeling that warm again.

Toned and lightly textured to create the mood i was after.

The last rays of low winter sunlight light up the clouds moments after a dark heavy rainstorm has passed over Freshwater Bay, and a wave's icy fingers reach to the sky as if to grab a passing gul and drag it down to a watery grave.

A poetic flight of fancy from the last saturday evening of 2012 at Freshwater Bay. Taken a few minutes after the panoramic shot that was very popular (see comments)

Fisheye of Corfe Castle.
