I shot this minimalist landscape image during a short break in a nasty sandstorm on Jockeys Ridge. This brief moment of sunlight lit up the ridge wonderfully, and the blackness of the sky behind should give an idea of how bad the weather was outside of this small pocket of light. I especially liked the way you can see all the sand in mid air on the horizon, it was airborne and alive with movement as you can see in the larger version by clicking on the image. This image is one of my personal faves, and it took a bit of patience to capture it. I waited for a couple of hours through the rapidly changing light and gusty conditions for the right moment when the wind gusts produced this storm of bright yellow autumn colored leaves in the air.
