Dandelion Seed Heads

This spring there was just an unbelievable crop of Dandelions (Taraxacum officinale agg.) along the banks of the Royal Canal near Maynooth, particularly along the long straight between Bond Bridge and Jackson's Bridge. You can just see Jackson's Bridge out of focus in the background of this shot. This was taken as the sun set with the seed heads being back-lit by the setting sun to really help them stand out from the grass around them.
