taken by my friend at Margate station, i think its called an M.P.V unless you know better ?
thought to be DR 98977 & DR 98927 Network Rails Rail-head Treatment Train, which is known to have been in the area at the time, it seems likely but if anybody knows otherwise i will obviously correct this

NOT taken by me, date is pre-1980 as she left for the Nene Valley in 1980, i never saw Britannia in steam, i only saw her dumped at Arley waiting to leave, thought to have been taken by The Gaffer, as if it wa staken by my step father, i would have been there i think ?

4008 S408 NVP OPTARE SPECTRA GA-WN DDLF delivered new to BC 08-Feb-99, before being cascaded to toher routes, they were originally used on the 50 service in Birmingham, here 4008 is working the 504 on Lichfield Road, Wolverhampton

1 or now known as 4001 R1 NEG OPTARE SPECTRA GA-WN DDLF delivered new to the fleet 14-Feb-98, these were the first Low Floor buses in Birmingham, i was working in a Hotel in Birmingham City Centre at the time BOTH 1& 2 were at BC and they were often out on test during the night, many was the night i was sitting in the canteen and looking out of the window (as you do) when some nights it would be 1 sometimes it would be 2, and on one particular night i saw 1 & 2 both on Smallbrook Queensway, 2 was later to go to Dundee i think, she NEVER entered service in Birmingham, i was lucky enough to ride on 1 as she was then, from Bearwood Bus Station, to Five Ways before she was failed and sent back to garage empty, i remember there was sign on board saying these were the future, but they wanted passenger opinion of them before deciding if they would order any more or not................

ive been trying to get close to 4001 again ever since, i have hardly ever seen her, now i have a photo, i had to chase her down though, everytime during the day i got my camera out, a shot of 4001 was not possible, unitl i tracked her down to Queens Street, Wolverhampton, and got this nice shot !

2984 YJ09 MLK Optare Versa V1110 B38F based at Shrewsbury Garage, and working the 890 to Bridgnorth, i was on my way home when i saw this bus, as i havent seen an Optare Versa before, i had to have a photo, hopefully before the year is out, i may get a ride on it as far as Bridgnorth.............

718 T718 NOE OPTARE EXCEL GA-WN MIDLF delivered to the fleet 10-Mar-99, were these the Gas Powered Buses Originally ?
Very ocasionally one of these turns up on the 126 in Birmingham, sadly, ive yet to get a ride on one, i like th elook of them, but feel they are probably an endangered species now, most of the ones i saw, look very tired, and tatty, maybe a trip to the paint shop might put that right ?
