Riley and I got to Wilstone Reservoir in good time, and walked up and down looking for a good spot to catch the sun rising. But my attention got caught by the great crosses, and I missed the first appearance of the sun behind those trees on the left. DoubleCrossed?
(Riley was my lovely Black Labrador dog at the time.)

'Sunset to the North' On Black OR LARGER.

it was a pleasant enough sunset, a few clouds and large expanse of clear toned sky. Then I noticed this cloud to my right: -- to the North. I snapped a couple of shots, and fiddled around to change the lens. When I looked through it, all the colour had gone. (How I miss my A1, with its long zoom,/wide angle fixed lens. I feel I missed fewer quick shots. What's the Sony H9 like?)

Riley's dawn

Riley woke me up early, and seemed to need to go out for his first loo call. So I threw a few clothes on, grabbed the camera, and sallied forth, into the twilight.
There was no sign of urgency from Riley now, and he led me up the road till we saw the reddening clouds. Good boy Riley. You knew I would want to photograph this, even so long before sunrise.
While I snapped, Riley demolished a ten foot log all over the road. He looked well satisfied, as was I. (I did wish that I had brought a wider angle lens with me, as so much more of the sky was on fire.)

A little while later the sun appeared (see below) -- and also a rainbow. (Please let me know if they vanish again.) zxgirl has queried whether it is a triple rainbow. What do you think?
