I enjoy those shots where surroundings (specially background) are a lot brighter than the subject and camera settings are adjusted for the main subject.

I haven't been around here in a while but I want to get more involved. I haven't completely stopped shooting but it's been mostly family and vacation shots. This one is from my niece Riley during the last Florida vacation in mid August. I'm planning to shoot some projects. I'm sure to bee around you awesome photographers more often!

I just came back from my vacation last night I am really late with my Teleidoscope project. I have something in mind but my idea needs to be outside with a visible horizon. I had too many mountains around me during this whole trip and it didn't work. I'm also behind responding my comments and looking around on Flickr. I will catch up this week.

I took the above picture on the 17-Mile Drive in California. The lighting was very interesting and I decided to take a shot of this Heron.

Week 1/52.

I'm starting a 52-week project called The Teleidoscope 2. The first theme is "New Perspective".

It's been a long time since my last upload. I hope to be more active with the Teleidoscope and the Iron Photographer projects. I'm leaving tomorrow for a 10-day vacation so I'll do my best to come up with something during this time.

Cleveland's Ingenuity Fest, founded in 2004, is a celebration of the marriage of arts and technology. The event takes place at the lower level of the Veteran's Memorial (Detroit Superior) Bridge. The festival features concerts, dance performances, exhibits, music, and fun. IT usually takes place during mid September. More information here.

My Dream Camera

This is my new baby; a Canon 5D Mark III. I'm so happy! What an fantastic camera. I'm still learning how to use it.

Very soon, I'll be selling my old XS, but before, I've decided to take a last picture with it. I've also managed to make this my entry into the latest Iron Photographer; IP 166:

1 - something you use in a routine activity or ritual
2 - another thing you use in that same routine activity / ritual
3 - dreamy effect.

I'm also using this to represent my come back to Flickr. I've truly missed this community. I hope to see you more often and participate on more projects.

Here, I've used 2 softboxes, one on the floor and another in front of me - no flashes. To help focusing and composition, I've tethered the camera to the PC and used the EOS Utility software for remote shooting.
