4PM: Someway down the road from Oxford Circus here on Regent Street and I find two riot coppers wandering away towards Picadilly Circus covereed in paint. Its a hint as to how laid back the atomosphere is between flashpoints at Oxford Circus and Picadilly Circus that nobody bats an eyelid at the few policemen and protesters wandering around.

At this point there were still weekend shoppers and tourists still in the Oxford Street/Regent Street area and not quite sure how to get back to their hotels probably situated in the West End of London.

4PM: A few funny protesters were having a laugh with some nice policemen when some other, more serious, policemen stepped in and said a few choice words which resulted in this small chap following said police down the road claiming he had been given an official warning for "condemning the cuts"

3:30PM - At this point some protesters split up and went in different directions. People were handing out small cards, some written in green and others written in other colours saying "this is your colour, follow it!" Mine was green so naturally I obeyed ;)

4:30PM: About this time a load of riot vans took off roughly in the direction of the main body of militant protesters up at Oxford Circus followed by a bunch of of riot police advancing up the road. Decided that this point to head off to Waterloo as I had to be elsewhere and went via Glass house street/Chinatown so I missed what was going on at Picadilly Circus.

Place absolutely packed full of protesters. Atmosphere was very friendly.

Whole place was completely occupied. Not a policeman in sight. Weirdly while mobile phone shops like Vodafone and some clothes retailers were shut; bookstores like Waterstones and other clothes shops like United Colours of Benetton were open for business.
