Not been around here much lately for one reason or another.
After taking the dog for a long late night walk on Christmas day, the sky was fairly clear so seemed the right time to shoot the moon.

Sigma 70-200 OS
Sigma 1.4x teleconverter (making 420mm equivalent)
Heavily cropped in Photoshop - need a longer lens:-)

Tonights sunset from the top of May Hill in Gloucestershire. Looking towards the Brecon Beacons, South Wales.
Thomas, my eldest came with me tonight as he wanted to see what I did when I go out - he seemed to enjoy himself so this may end up costing me to get him a decent camera now :-(
Not exactly the sunset I was after, but not too bad considering

Another shot from Kilmore Quay, County Wexford, Ireland. The two islands in the distance are the uninhabited Saltee Islands.
These sea defences are HUGE!
I saw them in the distance and sort of planned this shot before I got there but was not expecting them to be quite so big. Also, clambering around on them, the sea is lapping around below which is quite unnerving especially trying to set a tripod up on one - one slip and the camera gets very wet!

Was a good day out and my first time seeing the boar - thanks for showing me them guys:-)
Also thanks to James for the loan of his lens today.

There are a few more pics of the boar but this is the first 'good' one I came across - may post more later.

Went down to Awre for a quick few hours today.
Took the D7000 and 24-70 but ended up playing with the iPhone more than taking serious pics:-)
Playing with a 360 degree panorama app - got well dizzy taking these but amazed at how well they came out!

Yes that is the D7000 on its tripod to the left!
The highlights are blown out, the horizon is a bit wonky and one of the tripod legs is crooked but for a phone I'm pretty impressed (and a 69p app)

Been a while since I posted here as been without a camera for a bit.
Met up with James Hastie last night for a meet at Broadway Tower. Every time I have tried to trail this site so far it has clouded over but for once it stayed clear. Cold, but clear.
My timer remote also broke half way through the night and James very kindly lent me a spare he had in the car - thanks James :-)

Looking towards Broadway causes lots of light polution from here but its probably one of the better angles to do on this building so I decided to make the most of the orange glow. I think I could have toned down the tower slightly and bumped up the grass but you know how it is when you have a pint of beer in one hand and a mouse in the other!

Taken at Nash Point in South Wales today on a meet with a few local toggers.
Was an eventful day as we had hoped for a decent sunset but that didn't happen, various feet got wet along with kit and also a filter shattered.
Aside from this it was good to meet up again and hopefully next time will be a bit better!
