Rock through Trees IMG_0671

ForestPath posted a photo:

Here is another image I chose to simplify. I took a lot of different shots of this scene which caught my eye so strongly, that evening in September.
I tried HDR and various other things but I didn't really like the results enough to put them on Flickr. They just didn't emphasize the rock and the misty air beyond the rock, enough to make me happy.
But tonight I revived this scene and took it to Topaz Simplify, and there, with a combination of effects, I came up with this.
I think it gives me what I wanted, from the photo.

Below, at the request of my contacts Judy and Ed, I also include the original SOOC photo.

There is a huge improvement if seen on black.

Forget-Me-Nots

ForestPath posted a photo:

A cluster of Forget-Me-Nots around a boulder.

I've been caught up in my theater group lately (you all who knew me last year at this time will recall that I was directing a musical a year ago). This year I have not been involved... but then they asked me to take photos.

So I took 1126 photos the first day....

Then, I took my first group photo, and moved people from photo to photo using Elements 10, to make the perfect group shot. What a trip. It took five hours.

Then I took another 215 photos.

This weekend I will be busy with them again.

However, my flowers do call to me, in between bouts of chores and theater nights!

Here the blue forget-me-nots are blooming happily.
We had egg sized hail today... twice... though. Five thunderstorms! One big branch down.
I will have to go look tomorrow to see if any flowers survived!

Time for another entry to the Sliders Sunday group! I always have such fun with this group!

This one was especially fun to do, and ended up with a sort of 3D look which I liked.

So, Happy Sliders Sunday my friends! HSS!

A still life.
Ballet shoes which are actually a decoration belonging to my daughter, on the gorgeous desk my aunt left me, and a rock, which one of my three sisters gave to my mother and her sister.
When my mother and her sister had both died, and we were dividing up the contents of the house, everyone took back the gifts they had given to my mother and her sister over the decades.
But when I gave this rock to my sister to take home, she pressed it back into my hand and told me to keep it... that it should be a gift from one sister to another.
Made me cry, she did!
