Την Κυριακή της Ορθοδοξίας γίνεται σε όλους τους ναούς περιφορά των εικόνων για τη νίκη της Ορθοδοξίας κατά της αιρέσεως των εικονομάχων. Η λιτανεία αυτή επαναλαμβάνεται την Τρίτη της Λαμπρής. Το έθιμο αρχίζει μόλις χαράξει το φως και μια πομπή ξεκινά από την Εκκλησία της Παναγίας και λίγο αργότερα δεύτερη πομπή από την Εκκλησία του Προδρόμου. Επικεφαλής της πρώτης πομπής μεταφέρεται η θαυματουργός εικόνα της Παναγίας της Αγριώτισσας και επικεφαλής της δεύτερης η εικόνα του Αγίου Ιωάννου του Βαπτιστού. Οι δύο πομπές συναντιούνται, ενώνονται και συνεχίζουν ως μια πομπή που συνεχώς τα μέλη της αυξάνουν καθώς περνά από τα διάφορα σημεία του Αγρού. Η πορεία της πομπής είναι από τα παλιά χρόνια καθορισμένη. Επίσης είναι καθορισμένα τα σημεία όπου θα σταματήσει η πομπή για να γίνει παράκληση.
