Our boss often invites us to Michelin Star restaurants for our annual get togethers and this year was no exception, as we all headed to 't Zilte in Antwerp. I wouldn't be able to afford dining here on my own (140 EUR the menu, 210 EUR with matching wines), but I did enjoy the Michelin 2* food experience. The restaurant is located on the top floor of the MAS museum and has spectacular views over the city, the marina and the river.

Smaakmakers - Appetizers :
- Gamba : Shrimp, beetroot, sea urchin and krupuk.
- Zalm : Salmon, root parsley, pine needle honey and parsley.
- Girolles : Chanterelle, periwinkle, herring caviar and blonde peas
- Venkel : Fennel, palm heart, curry and squid.

Smaaktendens - Main dishes :
- Rund : Beef, tarragon, rutabaga and autumn radish.
- Forel : Trout, feta cheese, lovage, celery and baked mussels.
- Kabeljauw : Cod, oysters, salsify, chestnuts and onions.
- Duif : Pigeon, red cabbage, hemp seeds, black pudding and crosne.

Sweetness :
- Citrus : Tangerine, cedar, peperkoek and soy milk.
- Peer : Pear, whiskey, chocolate, parsnip and ladyfingers.

Views from the walkway on top of the bridge. Because the floor was made out of planks, with small gaps giving a view of the water beneath, P's vertigo kicked in. We had planned to cross the bridge on foot, but I ended up walking back and forth taking pictures, before going down again and crossing the river in the gondola.

Former terminal station of the Bilbao-Portugalete Railway line, built by Pablo de Alzola y Minondo in 1888.

Due to the prolongation of the railway line to Santurtzi with the opening of a tunnel under the town in 1925, this station was gradually abandoned and later converted to the Tourist Office.

On 13 July, 2006, the World Heritage committee of UNESCO declared the Hanging Bridge a world heritage monument, making it the first World Heritage monument in the Basque Country and the first World Industrial Heritage monument in Spain.

The Hanging Bridge is one of the most outstanding constructions of the European Industrial Revolution and one of the greatest engineering achievements of the end of the 19th century. It was the first transporter bridge to be built in the world and is one of the very few still working.

Designed in 1887 by Alberto de Palacio, it was officially opened on 28 July, 1893, the Bizkaia Bridge, popularly known as the Hanging Bridge, solved the problem of communication between both banks of the river Nervion, without interrupting the flow of the river or hindering navigation.

It comprises four metal latticework towers, 62 metres high, which hold a 160-metre deck, with a suspended gondola. This moves horizontally between both banks and is capable of transporting a dozen cars and two hundred people.
